Probably the worst ship that can be built, if the current admnistration is an indicator. Big as a carrier, but oblong instead of ship-shaped, and propelled by a standard-sized outboard motor sold by one of Trumps relatives for $fortune.

Will also sink on launch, because including a bottom was too expensive.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 1 points 4 days ago (1 children)

including a bottom was too expensive

You'd think Trump-class would have a massive bottom.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago

Or a gold-plated one.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 3 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

Will these Trump class ships be really really huge but have no substance?

[–] Jaybird@lemmy.world 6 points 6 days ago

So half way build, then stop paying people, and then blaming everyone else for not finishing it, and then scrapping it all while blaming Biden for the "Very failed ships that Biden should never have started building" ?

[–] Wispy2891@lemmy.world 7 points 6 days ago

Like a 4 years old: "but Mommy! At the kindergarten Kim said that he got an air carrier! I want one too!"

[–] HugeNerd@lemmy.ca 1 points 5 days ago

It'll be sold on late night TV? Operators are standing by, call now!

[–] runner_g@piefed.blahaj.zone 2 points 6 days ago

glory holes in every room!

[–] DrFistington@lemmy.world 120 points 1 week ago (10 children)

So they'll be shitty, ineffective and overpriced?

[–] Heikki2@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago

It will literally have a bridge to nowhere

[–] Taco2112@lemmy.world 58 points 1 week ago (4 children)
[–] Tolookah@discuss.tchncs.de 24 points 1 week ago

But an important thing for ships, never a hole in one!

[–] allriledup@piefed.blahaj.zone 11 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

so you're saying they'll be plated with fake gold?

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago

Plated with lots of fake gold and shitty fonts.

[–] foodandart@lemmy.zip 7 points 1 week ago

And big bottomed. blobby shaped hulls. Slow and trashy.

[–] WhatGodIsMadeOf@feddit.org 14 points 1 week ago

Well... They are going to be American made.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 11 points 1 week ago

Seems like he might find a way to leave a contractor unpaid. Maybe several contractors.

And a pedophile human trafficker.

Because it will be full of Bubba's sea men?

Sounds like the kind of warship you'd buy from AliExpress

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 13 points 1 week ago

Shiny with fake gold trim everywhere, and gold colored flames painted on the side.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago

I'm picturing all those Wish website memes....

[–] Shirasho@lemmings.world 33 points 1 week ago (3 children)

This is not something a sane president would do. They would not want to win a nobel peace prize then want to attach their name to the deadliest tier of a weapon.

Dave Eggers described him as having a "formidable intellect"!

[–] hobowillie@lemmy.world 27 points 1 week ago

It isn't the deadliest tier of a weapon. Battleships have been obsolete for over 80 years now.

What a vainglorious asshole.

[–] Soulphite@reddthat.com 20 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Utter embarrassment... anyone associated with this idiot ought to be profoundly ashamed of themselves...

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 11 points 1 week ago (3 children)

I honestly think so many of them went so balls-deep on embracing this loser that they cannot admit to themselves, never mind others, just how wrong they were.

[–] Blackfeathr@lemmy.world 5 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (1 children)

The vast majority of them aren't in the denial stages, because they're still ignorant of everything bad that he's doing.

Remember, republicans have been maintaining a media ecosystem (Fox News and select radio pundits) for 40+ years spoonfeeding lies to these people, telling them at every opportunity that all other media networks besides them are liars and out to get them/destroy the country/etc. It's a relationship not unlike domestic abuse, with the abuser telling their victim that no one will "love" and "care for" them as much as the abuser does.

Fox News isn't reporting on Trump's low poll numbers, or rising prices, or that ICE is kidnapping innocent people, or that the govt released fully redacted Epstein files, or the damning unredacted files implicating Trump, or any other thing that could put this administration in a negative light. Their bottom line and continued existence depends on them keeping their audience divorced from reality. And their audience largely considers any other media besides Fox News as fake, so these ghouls must keep the grift going and the lies flowing.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 2 points 4 days ago

Something's badly wrong with those people. Anyone who's not comatose knows that anyone who tells you that everyone but them is a liar, is a fucking liar.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 6 days ago

Oh, so you've met my parents?

[–] Greyghoster@aussie.zone 8 points 1 week ago

They say that family and friends of psychopathic serial killers have that problem. Can’t viscerally admit that they accepted the killer into the family.

[–] Sciaphobia@sh.itjust.works 17 points 1 week ago

Man's scrambling to change media and public focus. Scrambling.

[–] Mpeach45@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Design highlights of the new #Trump class #battleships:

  1. Very wide amidships
  2. Capable of wrecking entire countries
  3. Loudest engines ever
  4. Largely funded by Saudis
  5. Solid gold toilets
  6. Totally full of bilge water.
[–] myfunnyaccountname@lemmy.zip 2 points 6 days ago

Everything leans slightly to the bow

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 11 points 1 week ago

He has some kind of weird fixation on hydraulic vs. electric, too, so....have to incorporate that somehow.

This guy is just so fuckin' weird.

All tiny hands on deck!

[–] BenVimes@lemmy.ca 8 points 1 week ago

Bit of trivia: the mid-life refit program for Canada's Iroquois-class destroyer was called TRUMP: Tribal Refit and Update Modernisation Program.

That program happened in the 1980s, so Mr. Trump is 40ish years late to claim the name.

The US naval shipbuilding has been reduced to like ... two yards ... Bremerton and Baltimore, i think ?

[–] thefluffiest@feddit.nl 5 points 1 week ago
