2025 has been an absolute nightmare for my family. It started in March when my first car finally gave up the ghost after I did a lot of major repairs, which sucked, but was managable. A few weeks later, my brother was in a serious motorcycle accident and had to be airlifted to the hospital. On the way there, my mom got very sick and ended up hospitalized in the same place, and while my brother was still there, his dog nearly died.
In May, my grandfather accidentally ran over my grandmother’s leg, putting her in the hospital. While she was recovering, my grandfather developed a toe infection that led to his own hospitalization and eventual death at the end of July.
By November, my dad tested positive for esophageal cancer (fortunately caught early), and my sister needed hip surgery.
That brings us to today’s TIFU: I wrecked the car I’d only owned for a few months after hitting a car that did a rolling stop, destroying the front-left of the engine compartment. The year ended with one last emotional punch, leaving my family with even more to deal with going into 2026.
TL;DR: 2025 was a nonstop string of family emergencies and bad luck, and I capped it off by wrecking my car.
