Propaganda was released wrapped in Epstein files.

[–] Asidonhopo@lemmy.world 5 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

I downloaded all 4 zip files from the release today and converted the thousands of single-image pdfs to jpg for easy browsing, it comes out to 1.5gb and 8400 or so images. A lot of pictures are of rooms assumably taken at Li'l St. James or another of Epstein's properties. Contents of drawers, closets, scrapbooks, paper effects, photos and paintings. I'm maybe a quarter of the way through, there have been a few photos but nothing with Trump in them.

I encourage anyone else to download and convert the files and browse through them. I thought there would be hundreds of thousands though, not 8400.

Yeah and then in part 3 and 4 the pictures are so low quality it's hard to get anything out of them.

No they weren't

My guess is that he actual article title be:

Redacted Epstein Files Released

[–] CCMan1701A@startrek.website 6 points 4 hours ago

In one of the data sets (4 i think) there are photos of a hard drive. What's on there? 🧐 There are also photos of evidence of like tape recordings and cassette, but not sure what's on them either.

The few the grand jury stuff i clicked through was redacted, so there's that. I'll wait for someone with more time to review what's there, but doesn't look too exciting. The court records are more interesting.

Gonna repost some information here I shared in another thread.

They broke the law again. The Epstein Files Transparency Act requires all the files to be released, downloadable and searchable by the end of today. Already failing that, Trump's DOJ also made a statement that they would release "several hundred thousand" documents.

Well, CBS:

New documents span 3,965 files, totaling 3 GB of data

The total number of files across all four new data sets is 3,965, with a total file size of about 3 GB. Nearly all of the files are PDFs, with one video file. Some of the files are individual images, while others are documents with many pages.

And the consequences will be.........

[–] SinningStromgald@lemmy.world 12 points 7 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago)

...strongly worded letters of course. Schumer might even look over the top his glasses while making a serious face at a press conference talking about the letter. Those naughty DOJ people will certainly learn their lesson that way!

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 10 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

The consequences were not outlined in the bill. 🤷🏻‍♂️

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 6 points 5 hours ago

Then it wasn't a proper law. I was taught in psychology class that a rule must have a consequence attached. "You must do x" isn't a proper rule, "you must do x or else y will happen" is

There is a search function, so I did a search for trump:

edit: all names of people we all ready know are in the the files, seams to be missing, this is a joke, and no, there are also no Donnie, Bubba or similar, at least in my searches

[–] CCMan1701A@startrek.website 5 points 4 hours ago

I didn't think they indexed the pdfs.

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 8 points 7 hours ago

I wouldn't trust that function. Download the whole mess and search for yourself. Not saying they rigged it, saying the search function probably sucks.

[–] stepintomydojo@sh.itjust.works 35 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

It's broken, searching for "Epstein" has no results.

The contact list is fun, Trump has a box around his name (page 80).

[–] ThePowerOfGeek@lemmy.world 14 points 10 hours ago

"It's not a bug, it's an undocumented feature!" -GOP staffers who spent the last few weeks scrubbing conservative names from the files.

[–] Saapas@piefed.zip 19 points 11 hours ago* (last edited 11 hours ago) (1 children)

Idk how it works. Nothing from Clinton either. I probably just don't know how to use the search

He calls him Donny

[–] myrmidex@belgae.social 5 points 11 hours ago

Flight logs, 17 oct 1993 is the first time I've come across his name.

[–] aramis87@fedia.io 25 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Some of the Epstein files released. Bondi already said earlier today that they wouldn't make the deadline for all the files.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 4 points 7 hours ago

Consequences?

[–] i_stole_ur_taco@lemmy.ca 27 points 11 hours ago

You are now in line

We are currently experiencing extremely high volume of search requests at this time. We have placed you in a waiting queue and we will process your search request as soon as we can. Thank you for your patience.

Oh I love this. This is like Taylor Swift Ticketmaster level interest. Can’t wait to see what people start finding over the next days.

[–] watson387@sopuli.xyz 6 points 9 hours ago (2 children)

Where can you just download the whole set? I don't see that option unless I'm missing something.

[–] CCMan1701A@startrek.website 1 points 4 hours ago

It's there now

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 4 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

There's no magic "gimme all" button, but this is closer to what you want.
