According to local media reports, Polania’s body was found after her security detail alerted the police when they were unable to contact her despite several calls.
Once authorities gained access to the apartment, they discovered the judge’s body next to her two-month-old baby.
A report from W Radio indicated that the child was rushed to a clinic for a thorough medical evaluation.
Polania, 37, was involved in several scandals throughout her career.
News reports revealed that she was allegedly involved in an erotic show held just over two years ago inside the Cucuta Courthouse.
Because of this incident, the National Commission for Judicial Discipline ordered an investigation into officials and employees who appeared in a video recording during an alleged Valentine’s Day celebration.
The First Municipal Criminal Judge with Guarantee Control Functions in Cucuta also generated controversy for her unconventional practices regarding the administration of justice.
At the end of 2022, she was suspended for three months after appearing semi-nude and with a cigarette during a virtual hearing.
Polania also reported being a victim of workplace harassment and threats.
She revealed that due to these events, her mental health suffered, and she even disclosed that she received medical leave for a depressive syndrome.
