I like nano because it lists the keyboard commands on the screen where I can see them.

I would have come, but I was at the emacsconf and I lost track of time editing my config.

We all (the cool folks) know that ED IS THE STANDARD EDITOR.

I think you're cool for using vi I just couldn't make it to the desert meetup. I'm an antisocial loser

Why is fish so small? Is it a different fish?

Thanks for making VIM content

[–] apftwb@lemmy.world 4 points 14 hours ago

Less features. Just like vi

[–] pmjv@lemmy.sdf.org 31 points 1 day ago (1 children)

it's the mini-fish and mini-girl!

[–] Wizard_Pope@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Oh I missed the mini prefix. We will evolve into micro-fish and micro-girl next

No visual mode (selections), you also can't immediately see the results of your changes - if you use the c$ command, for example, the rest of the line won't disappear.

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 3 points 23 hours ago

yeah I did not feel they are very different and most of what I do in vim is like I use vi. I mean granted I do usually use vim.

And where is neovim vs vim on here?

[–] expr@programming.dev 3 points 16 hours ago

vim is definitely cooler than neovim.

[–] pmjv@lemmy.sdf.org 26 points 1 day ago (3 children)

you can substitute vi and vim with anything you want!

Thanks, I'm good. I can't even write LISP.

[–] notabot@piefed.social 12 points 1 day ago

Most of us are polite enough not to call you that publicly, but we're all thinking it really, really loudly.

[–] Digit@lemmy.wtf 3 points 1 day ago

Okay.

I'll replace vi with fin and vim with mcedit.

... There's no one here. n_n
