We take it to go. Hence the enormous cupholders in our enormous cars.

But then you're still drinking that in one day? That is pretty wild to me.
No, we bring it back to the nest to nourish our young
But you still have to finish it within 30-40 minutes or so. Or do people actually drink it flat and lukewarm for the rest of the day?
The cup is about 70% filled with ice before the drink goes in. I work in hospice and drive around to patients homes all day. I'll occasionally hit McDonald's in the morning as I start my day (bacon, egg and cheese bagel with a large coke zero sugar.) Unless my car is getting hot in the middle of summer, that drink will last about 4 hours with some ice left over. If it's hot enough out to melt faster, well, I'm probably drinking it faster anyway because it's hot out.
But isn't it more water than cola at that point? I'd rather chug back 300ml then drink water the rest of the day, than drink watery cola for 4 hours.
Everyone here is acting surprised at the size, or pretending that somehow, the ice makes it okay.
Y'all. Own your shit. These look normal to me, and I totally skip out on the ice most all of the time. I usually finish a 16oz before I'm done with my meal.
I can do 1L over a period of time... in a plastic bottle. If US cups are like they are elsewhere they eventually get eaten away by the liquid and start dripping, which seems to go against the implied notion that you can just order a big one and take it with you to keep drinking elsewhere.
Out of interest:
Does US McDonalds also offer sparkling mineral water or something like that?
I usually take that as I am not especially fond of sweetend soft drinks.
This would be regional. Some of the new "mixology" machines offer sparkling water options. Most American machines offer carbonated soda water (tap water with carbonation added, no flavors or minerals really added)
The soda water in flint has added minerals and also hydrocarbons.
you can even set it on fire for those special occasions!
I don’t think I’ve had a supersized one in decades. Is that still a thing in the UK? On the occasions I do get a McDonald’s I usually just get water anyway.
I think they got rid of that after Supersize Me came out.
I don't eat there anyway. It used to be fast and cheap, and now I can make an entire lasagne for the price of going there, in not much more time. I know what I'm doing when given the choice.
Imma grip and sip
and sip and sip and sip and sip and….
Haven't seen this meme in a while. Next we will see the Kinder Surprise meme.
Also a if a 16oz cup is filled to the top with ice then it's about 8oz of liquid before the ice melts. So this meme is for spreading ignorance for a laugh or a marketing scheme to convince Americans to by smaller cups without lowering the price.
