Democrats if they ever get the white house again: "Well, we better keep the plaques. We don't want to upset them."

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said, “The plaques are eloquently written descriptions of each President and the legacy they left behind. As a student of history, many were written directly by the President himself.”

Lmao

That she can say that with a straight face is truly impressive.

But she only has smug ~~bitch~~ fascist face

Edit: changed to a more gender inclusive term

Probably not that hard with all the botox.

What can't trump do?!

It's so fucking infuriating they all treat him like he's capable of doing anything.

What, are these people twelve?

[–] neukenindekeuken@sh.itjust.works 20 points 1 month ago

I know plenty of 12 year olds with more class than this.

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 66 points 1 month ago (2 children)

When I read shit like this I think of Trump tearing down the East Wing. He didn't do this personally. Multiple people had to agree and execute.

For example; I managed a reprographics shop. We would have flat refused to make signage such as these plaques. Not because management was woke, we simply wouldn't handle toxic messaging. Somewhere in DC is a shop that said, "Fuck it, the money matters more than morals." Same for the demolition company.

[–] arrow74@lemmy.zip 21 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

I was a park service employee when this administration began and the back breaking speed everyone bent over and let Trump have his way was disgusting.

I'm talking entire HR departments working fucking COMP TIME (not even OT) just to make sure their colleagues are fired as quickly as possible. Like damn policy allows you to take up to 3 sick days no questions, call out and let people have a few more days of pay.

Everyone with a conscience in leadership instead of trying to resist just resigned day one. The rest fell in line.

I was disgusted and disappointed

This is childish and petty.

I am so fucking embarrassed to live in the USA.

[–] NotASharkInAManSuit@lemmy.world 60 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I’m so fucking tired of being governed by god damned jr. high schoolers.

[–] kopasu22@lemmy.world 15 points 1 month ago

America collectively peaked in high school

[–] Dorkyd68@lemmy.world 60 points 1 month ago

The eating of trumps ass by his maga moron is out of control. They named renamed the Kennedy center. Who memoralizes themselves while living? Dictators. Only Dictators do this shit. My family is lost to his nonsense. There isnt a single free thinking person in my family anymore. Dad mom, brother all lost to his bs. Wake up America, im begging you, before he takes all your rights away

[–] Jhex@lemmy.world 58 points 1 month ago (1 children)

what a petty, little bitch

[–] INHALE_VEGETABLES@aussie.zone 15 points 1 month ago (1 children)

And the pettyness is obvious even to maga - I love it haha

[–] Quill7513@slrpnk.net 21 points 1 month ago

the issue with maga recognizing it is they relish it. that's what they're here for. they think this is what it means to hold the elite accountable: sending mean tweets, being a petty bitch, lashing out omnidirectionally.

where trump is losing people, and i'm starting to really see it in my community, is his claims that america has never been more affordable than it is today. you can lie about why you're going to war and the dangers posed by people racists don't talk to, but you can't lie about the price of bread. you can't hide that. everyone can tell if the cost of living is getting better or worse. they can tell because we're all living it

[–] D_C@sh.itjust.works 50 points 1 month ago (8 children)

How, and I'm serious here, how can this thing get voted in? And how did it happen twice?

You'd have to be fucking moronic to the point of being a dribbling idiot to even think that this orange thing was not just a huge piece of unusable scum!!

[–] W3dd1e@lemmy.zip 32 points 1 month ago (12 children)

I get a lot of hate on Lemmy every time I post this, but I genuinely think American voters don’t like women.

It will be heavily guarded or hidden. It will literally be defaced in the first hour. I will dance on the day of his death. The entire world will celebrate his Demise.

Only on paper. In reality, the authors of the bill wrote that Trump and Bondi get to decide what to release and can withhold as much of the documents as they want under the guise of "national security." It was just more kayfabe.

What kind of fucking fanfiction is this whole thing. Satire truly is dead.

Also

California Governor Gavin Newsom, no stranger to mocking Trump online, slammed the stunt.

Stop "slamming" and similar terms because they fucking mean nothing

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 32 points 1 month ago (10 children)

When the orange turd dies or otherwise is out of office, we should just remove his plaque entirely and pretend like he never even existed.

This has the potential to be very very funny.

I think it should be taken as a precedent, and every successive administration should start writing bitchy little propaganda plaques. Instead of a photo of Trump, we could have like an old moldy orange. Or we could have photos of sad war orphans for other presidents, some scathing political commentary, it could be great. Not at all disrespectful to hang on the wall, this seems fine. Let’s goooo!

Petty, childish, juvenile, mean, pathetic.

The equivalent of drawing a mustache on someone whom you dislike on their yearbook photo and expecting everyone to laugh at your work, too.

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 29 points 1 month ago

Actual fucking toddler

[–] Raptor_007@lemmy.world 27 points 1 month ago

What a lil bitch

[–] Mulligrubs@lemmy.world 22 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (6 children)

And we have all of this because Obama made fun of Trump at some big presser, makes you think, right?

Before that, Trump was a Democrat, mocking Republicans, playing golf with Bill, and endorsing Hillary for senate.

Just imagine who the bankers have selected as our future candidates! Remember when the Bush presidency was the worst ever?

[–] rumba@lemmy.zip 17 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

He did get roasted, and it didn't help, but don't kid yourself that it was the catalyst, he flipped a couple years before that happened. I read that same story, and it was just an fluff piece for the media.

https://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/donald-trump-was-once-a-registered-democrat-and-party-donor-why-did-he-jump-ship/wj85mj5yq

He's changed affiliations 5 times now

Before he ran, his investments were petering out. He owed a substantial amount of money to multiple places. (notably a couple of billion to Deutsche Bank) His contributions to whatever party he was sucking up to were in the couple of thousand-dollar range.

He registered Republican near the end of Reagan's run. He flipped to Independent in the middle of Clinton's presidency. He switched to the Democrats when Bush took office. He flipped to republican the year Obama got in, even though the ~~roast~~ switch* was two years before the roast in question.

The Republicans knew that once Obama got in, they could weaponize race and he turned out to be the face they were looking for to empower the right extremists and moderates.

Oh that's good that means that when Trump is dead they can move one of them and then they have a spare.

There's a lot of talk about whether or not there should be some age limit on a president and they're probably should be, but I think that also needs to be a maturity test. Trump has a level of pettiness normally reserved for teenage girls in badly written YA novels. Imagine being the person that had to make those plaques and then put them up, you'd feel like a prat.

Social media and media aggregation has promoted trolls into places where they're stuck sucking their own dicks to shock people, while also being incompetent leaders and managers.

I hope the next Democratic President strolls through the White House with a staff trailing behind taking notes, as they point to various things and say: "Take that down, destroy that, replace that, all THIS shit has to go, tear that down, arrest him, him, her, and him, burn that..."
