I agree, this definitely reads as fake. At the same time, I know people who would do things like this, as teenagers, just to mess with people.
That's the part that makes this believable. They didn't start with "we want to punch bigots." They started with, "we wanna fight but we aren't allowed to fight people who don't deserve it, so we came up with someone who would deserve it."
I have absolutely known those type of teenage boys.
Nothing ever happens.
I feel like people forget that when you tell a story of something that did actually happen you can't help but editorialise it to assist with making it a coherent story worth retelling. That editorialisation is then picked up on and people over interpret it to mean the whole story is fake.
I have them marked as troll - annoying. It's amazing how often that saves me from reading their comments.
The "block" button is right there too. Just block dumbass trolls so you don't waste time reading their comments.

Do you know what my problem with this is? I always confuse "ally" with "alley" which is not good for my understanding of what is going on.
