No "Sowwy". To the gulag with you. >:(
Sowwy :( I won't shower ever again
I feel bad when I drink water. It could have been used to cool a data center generating slop AI manga girls
the thirst is real. need me some big tiddie yandere anime girls to quench this dry parched throat.
I'm sorry, dear. I'll kill some South American Union workers to make up for it.
Fun fact (in the US): AI water usage pales in comparison to the amount of water wasted on CORN to produce ethanol.
Abolish ethanol. Embrace the renewable revolution!

But how would Iowa farmers suckle at the government's tit then?
Grow more soy?
Peter Thiel uses bots to spread misinformation on the fediverse?
You selfish jerks. How dare you use this precious clean water for bathing and drinking when we have AI Coca-Cola Christmas slop videos who don't have enough wheels. Why do you hate Christmas?!
They can have it when I'm done with it
Nah I only shower in Nestle-slop to make up for it.
I am also shitting in here with loads if water up my arse, I am quite a selfish person
Wow, I always thought cats would overthrow humanity in a cool way. This sucks.
Looking forward to the collapse of the AI industry!
Wait, what is Coke doing? Maybe this is more important than freshening my balls!
They made their Christmas ads with AI this year.
Most of the talk I've seen about it has been negative, which is encouraging, but I'm also not confident that the people who have strong opinions about it are representative of the general population, so we'll just have to wait and see.
They also generated the behind-the-scenes footage, which seems way weirder.
This feels like an indication of a psychosis.
“In an effort to legitimize AI, we made more AI.”
I imagine the conversation went something like, Middle Manager: "We need to show how much effort y'all put into making that AI ad. Let's do a behind-the-scenes!" - Producer: "We would have needed to record that while we were running stuff through post." - Middle Manager: "Can't you just have AI make it?" - Producer: "... why do you imagine people watch behind-the-scenes videos?" - Middle Manager: "Nevermind, I've got Sora, I'll just do it." - Producer (would be dying more on the inside if there was anything left to perish) "...okay"
We are living in strange times.
Oh, shit, I saw that! It was fucking horrific!
Thanks for taking the time to explain 😊
I think they did this last year as well and people were just as mad, looks like the executives are determined to cause droughts, even if it means ruining their reputation :(
This month Coca-Cola debuted its holiday ad and reportedly used 70,000 AI prompts to bring it to life. That number is technically true, but deeply misleading. It wasn’t 70,000 prompts; it was 70,000 AI clips stitched together, generated through what was likely hundreds of thousands of prompts, refinements, reruns, and scene rebuilds.
The end result probably could have powered a small country for a year.
Can confirm. Am selfish.
Makes me want to take a lot more showers.
... Y'all checking Lemmy in the shower?
Are you not?
we get to shower?
Considering how awful Lemmy users seem to be in general about identifying AI generated content, I'm going to need some references and receipts here before I'm on board.
It's 70,000 claimed clips for a single ad. From Coca-Cola's official YouTube channel, the AI ad in question:

The "behind the scenes" video with the 70,000 statistic:
Lemmy also commonly overstates how much power or water AI uses, but this one's true. Don't even need a proof, just see the video for yourself: https://youtu.be/Yy6fByUmPuE
When will data center bathwater come out for tech bros?
