Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Isn't this the same guy who threatened anyone who made any comment about Charlie Kirk's death being anything other than the worst tragedy since 9/11?

[–] silence7@slrpnk.net 50 points 1 week ago (2 children)

He got hundreds of people fired for not being sufficiently reverent of Kirk

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Wasn’t it a bunch of his cult members being online vigilantes?

[–] Soulg@ani.social 9 points 1 week ago

Yes but also jd Vance literally told people to get anyone saying bad things fired

[–] sturmblast@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago (2 children)

You mean that racist, sexist, bigot Charlie Kirk?

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Of course, people would actually mourn James Kirk

[–] FatVegan@leminal.space 0 points 1 week ago

It's really hard to keep track these days. But yes, the american guy

There are many. Putin's his main Bubba.

Maybe we should stop showing up to work until him and his whole family are violently murdered. Then we can joke about it, but still refuse to return to work until our pay is at least tripled. With all that extra time we could easily police any available scabs that don't join the solidarity movement. If they absolutely need the money, then be kind. Pool resources like food and housing to take care of each other until our demands are met. Worst case scenario, you have an idle army built on good will and a common goal.

The 60000 that make up the 1% don't have that. I mean even if your motives are entirely self serving, there's a heritage foundation member within 200 miles of almost every American, and they have mansions filled with valuables. Take what you need, when you need it. Do you really think their private security forces are prepared to handle 1000+ coordinated militia members armed with assault rifles and fire?

Do you really think their private security forces are willing to die for some rich fucktard?

A general strike would crush this president, the GOP, the fascist takeover, and empower the quiet, cowardly opposition from both sides to finally fight back. It's not even a complex solution, its straightforward and simple. What would convince people to do it is a fucking mystery, but the solution is right there for the taking.

Robust strike funds would. A lot of us are being run into the ground but could only last a month or two at most without work.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 week ago

If everyone is striking, where are people going to get food? Even if you have savings. Store shelves will be empty.

[–] lectricleopard@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

This is why the right never strays from identity politics. They need the working class divided into smaller pieces or else they'd be cooked.

[–] absGeekNZ@lemmy.nz 12 points 1 week ago

Disagree.

I read the post; Trump made the murder all about Trump! He and his wife were killed, because he didn't like Trump; if they had just loved the great and powerful Trump enough, all would be well.

spoiler/s if it wasn't enough

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 10 points 1 week ago

Just remember, he's only going to get worse. Cognitive decline and malignant narcissism are a deadly combination.

[–] RaoulDuke25@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 1 week ago

Hopefully one of his sons does the same thing to him.

[–] minorkeys@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The President has no standards so this is completely unsurprising from this president.

[–] Ininewcrow@piefed.ca 3 points 1 week ago

The biggest disappointment about his opinion is that someone quoted him or referred to what he wrote.

I don't need to read his stupidity .... I already know he's an amoral, senile nut job ... I don't need to see his texts to know that.

[–] freeman@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 week ago

He is going to pardon a random murderer..

[–] sturmblast@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Trump is a piece of shit human

[–] TigerAce@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 week ago

even by the president’s standards

What standards? Remember, he used to sexually abuse underage girls with Epstein. There's no limit to how low he can sink.

[–] bklyn@piefed.social 1 points 1 week ago

if you ever think that Trump couldn't possibly go lower, just wait...
