/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. Use spoiler tags in comments, and NSFW checkbox for posts.
This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

Captain Jean Luc Bricard approves!

Can't image a better time to dust off the cobwebs and post this: https://picard.ytmnd.com/

Kept waiting for the second verse. Was not disappointed.

Here you go, just fill them in with your imagination:

🎶 Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the USS Enterprise. I love Earl-Grey and there are four lights 🎵

Might be a stretch, but I think it kinda works

LEGO needs to make a bald cap for their figurines

[–] RunningInRVA@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

What, no pips?

[–] ummthatguy@lemmy.world 19 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

That's cool, but still upset at the lack of O'Brien.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 19 points 2 weeks ago

That’s just the pattern buffer.

O’Brien has taken over the ship.

[–] SeductiveTortoise@piefed.social 13 points 2 weeks ago

He's in the left nacelle, in agony. For obvious reasons.

I can hear the theme song .... nice job!

🎶 It's been a long road,

Gettin' from there to here.

It's been a long road,

But my time is finally near. 🎶

I'm having a hard time deciding if this is the original folk mix .... or the upbeat calypso version

[–] deltapi@lemmy.world 7 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Very nice. Does the saucer detach? (By design, I mean, not just splitting bricks.)

[–] SatyrSack@quokk.au 3 points 2 weeks ago

Yes, it was designed to do so

[–] marlowe221@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago

That’s awesome! I’m halfway through the engineering hull on mine.

[–] tacosanonymous@mander.xyz 3 points 2 weeks ago

RIP your wallet

[–] Mongostein@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 weeks ago

It comes with Spot?? 😻

[–] metallic_substance@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

That's so great! How long did it take you?

[–] captain_aggravated@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

The crew lineup confuses me slightly;

Geordi and Worf are in yellow, Troi is in the lavendar catsuit, and Westley is in the rainbow stripe getup, so season 2, but Dr. Crusher and...is that Ensign Ro? are present?

[–] SatyrSack@quokk.au 1 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

I doubt it was meant to be accurate to a single specific point in the series timeline or anything. They just used the most recognizable/iconic costumes for each character. And yes, that is Ro, who came with the shuttle kit, which was a preorder bonus or something. It was always seen by fans as an odd choice that Ro was chosen as the character to be included in that kit.

[–] captain_aggravated@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Well I figure if they include the rest of the crew with the Enterprise kit, adding Ro with the shuttlecraft prevents duplication. Just need an O'Brien and a Q. Maybe O'Brien should come with a DS9 set?

[–] SatyrSack@quokk.au 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

That is the best explanation that I have seen for O'Brien's omission from this set. LEGO is probably planning a future DS9 set after this, and O'Brien would obviously be included in that one, and LEGO does not want to have to include the same character in two different sets. Or maybe that is not usually a problem for them at all. I have no idea how LEGO operates.

[–] limelight79@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago

I have all three Simpsons sets (house, Kwik-E-Mart, Krusty Burger), and all three include the Simpsons family. So they definitely have done repeats.

This might be a bit different because they're using likenesses of real people, though.

Well. I am happy for you. Very nice.

[–] Canopyflyer@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago

That's awesome.

Just got the notification of the one I ordered for my youngest just shipped. It's his big Christmas present this year.

We've had his Saturn V on the coffee table for the past couple of years. My wife and I plan on moving it and putting the Enterprise in its place.

[–] moleverine@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago

I picked that one up, but haven’t built up the courage to start building it yet.

[–] KiwiTB@lemmy.world -4 points 2 weeks ago (4 children)

The deflector dish is wrong.

[–] Hazel@piefed.blahaj.zone 13 points 2 weeks ago

Also the real ship didn't have this giant placard with its name on it. smh

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)
[–] KiwiTB@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

The Lego set has it wrong due to limitations in the bricks. The shape on the D is more eye like on the sides. It goes to a sharp corner Vs round corner. Your model is well assembled.

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago

But you haven't seen my model.

[–] SatyrSack@quokk.au 3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)
[–] metallic_substance@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago

My guess without looking anything up is that things are kinda "blocky" when it should look like a round shape. Maybe? But what do you expect from something l i t er a l l y made from blocks?
