It's fun that it's been weaponized to report people who you don't like.

[–] yermaw@sh.itjust.works 42 points 3 days ago (2 children)

"Someone thinks you may be suicidal" translates to "you hurt someone's feelings at some point"

The same reddit that allowed to nuke my account based on false bot claims and then refused to roll it back even though the perpetrators conveniently deleted their accounts shortly afterwards? checks out

Reddit Admins hate user interactions. User interactions cost more money to oversee than passive readers.

Much of Reddit policy boils down to "get unsponsored users off our platform". They don't want your comments. They don't want your posts. They don't want your drama. They don't want your input. They want you to show up, look at the sponsored links, maybe click a few, validate the advertisers' spending on media influence, then keep fucking scrolling.

If you're doing anything other than that, you're a net lose to the company and you are uninvited from the platform.

Its a bit like going into a casino and winning money. Casinos don't exist to pay you. Social Media doesn't exist to platform you. You're supposed to be a revenue generator, not a cost center. If you behave otherwise, the business will cut you just like they try to cut every other net-negative expense.

The same reddit that allows subreddit mods to get you banned site-wide on a whim

[–] BilSabab@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

i got my account nuked right after some burner account started asking me to add them to my sub. after politely declining, dude just went on comment bombing spree, so i banned him and them my account got stalked into permaban. Which is stupid because I don't post political stuff

This is ironic considering the source. Didn’t she go crying to Reddit admins to stop people from sharing anything negative about her? I recall people being banned for simply saying they through her comics were low-hanging-fruit and generic.

[–] rozodru@pie.andmc.ca 7 points 2 days ago

yes. also a while ago I believe someone on Reddit came up with "proof" that she was also paying a PR type of company to upvote and post positive comments on her posts. Take it with a grain of salt but their proof was essentially people that would comment on her posts ONLY used reddit to comment on her comic posts.

Not a fan or her work or her onlyfans "work" but meh she does play the system well I'll give her that.

I've only ever seen this message sent to harass people

If she's so sick of it, and they're not doing anything about it, why does she still stay on Reddit?

Also, why are you re-posting this Reddit-specific drama on Lemmy? Let her make an account and post her stuff if she wants

[–] Zink@programming.dev 5 points 1 day ago

The act of complaining constantly while not doing anything about it is a huge part of what I dislike about the angry white conservative culture I grew up in. It's such a widespread cultural issue, and while it fits my conservative family members like a glove, it is not unique to them.

[–] Mulligrubs@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Is Reddit-specific drama frowned upon here? I was hoping to make fun of reddit, I guess I'll just die

[–] JustTheWind@lemmy.world 17 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I have only ever seen the "Harm prevention" report used exclusively for the purpose of harassment on Reddit. I'm talking like 99.99999% of the time. Everything about that: from the corporate flavored, performative bullshit to the superficially empathetic, and conspicuously caring, two-faced nature of the whole thing really pisses me off. I would prefer if they were just honest about not giving a fuck, frankly.

Anyone else had this bot sent to them as harassment in itself? Fucking disgusting

[–] cliffracer_cloaka@piefed.social 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Many times. Interestingly enough, mostly after being critical towards the alt-right (Nazis, Fascists, MAGA).

The perfidious idea is to remind potential suicides about the possibility. Imagine being that hateful.

Metahumour/inside jokes for a different website/community doesn’t work.

[–] fishos@lemmy.world 27 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (27 children)

Especially when it's in response to the recent discussions about how she bots her posts to reach the front page everytime, has arrangements with the mods of the sub to remove any negative comments, tried to sue another sub for making parodies of her comics(and getting mods to ban anyone who mentions that sub in comics), makes ridiculous strawman arguments constantly(like this one), and how she uses her comic as a front for her OnlyFans.

She's a parasite on the comics community and she's finally starting to be called out for it, which is why you're seeing comics like this to try and get ahead of it. She's just trying to shift the drama to something besides her actions. She's hoping reframe all of her criticisms as just a bunch of maga/incel harassment instead of actually addressing any of it.

[–] Wren@lemmy.today 15 points 3 days ago (2 children)

I can't find any information on this aside from Reddit threads and youtube vids based on reddit threads.

Are you expecting BBC coverage or something?

I'm glad I never made an account on Reddit. The whole vibe of the site just throws me off completely. The snark subs were one of those reasons

[–] cliffracer_cloaka@piefed.social 9 points 2 days ago (5 children)

Those shit comics is on here now too?

[–] DerisionConsulting@lemmy.ca 16 points 2 days ago

"now" is odd phrasing from an 8 day old account.

I think I've seen this artist's work posted here for over a year.

[–] Vespair@lemmy.zip 5 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Some of us tried really hard not to let these drama-drenched nothing comics take over here, but it seems enough of the community thinks "relatable" is substitution for humor or substance, so here are. I've blocked some of the accounts that post PCC and similar garbage, but unfortunately you have a few users like King here who I don't want to block because they do actually participate in the greater Lemmy community but unfortunately also mass-post a bunch of garbage like this low-effort because I'm sure some people think bad content is better than no content. 🤷

Just here to say, fuck reddit.

[–] psx_crab@lemmy.zip 19 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Lol, that service do more harm than good, it's been used by others to harass people they don't like, and people who are suicidal doesn't really care about a bot reply. It's essentially useless gesture.

which is ironic since those messages originate from people doing it to harass people

[–] mojofrododojo@lemmy.world 13 points 3 days ago

the only time I've seen reddit cares deployed was by chuds harassing people.

[–] Ilovethebomb@sh.itjust.works 22 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Oh, PC is in no position to criticise Reddit for spreading snark and negativity.
