Hi all! It's been a while since I posted here. I have a bad habit of buying a lot of games in bundles on Humble and Fanatical, and have gathered quite a large amount of game keys that way.

More than I can reasonably play in my life. Especially since I am also still interested in new games coming out ;).

So I had the idea to give something back to this awesome community. A free steam key for everyone (*) who genuinely desires one. Just mention what types of games you like to play and I will try to find one that fits. These are all relatively cheap games, so don't expect any AAA blockbusters. Please don't just ask for a game to then resell it, I will not say what game it is so you will have to redeem it to know your gift ;).

(*) I will stop eventually, so we'll see how long this statement stands ;).

I'm broke so a new game to play would hit the spot, thank you so much! I like crafting games, cozy games, and arcadey retro style games, but really I play a bit of everything.

Hi again!

If that's okay (and if still have keys) may I ask one for my sister too? She doesn't have Lemmy. She likes RPGMaker (or similar) games, it shouldn't have any explicit content but horror is fine to some degree I think.

This is an amazing offer.

I’d take you up on it, but I already have thousands of games in my backlog, so it’d be a waste of a key. But I wanted to let you know I appreciate you doing this for the community!

Hello, honestly I've been in a gaming rut. I've been playing Halo MCC with one friend group, and Peak with the other. I'll take any shooter, open world game, or friend slop multiplayer game.

Edit: I got Prey! It's actually one I had on my wishlist and was hoping it would be on a deep discount for the winter sale. Thanks again for the giveaway!

I don't want any gifts, I just wanted to say you're an amazing person and this is a great initiative β™₯️

Wow, thank you for such a generous offer and help making this community better.

I've got quite a backlog, so I'm good on games this year - but really thank you for doing this! It's a fantastic idea.

Cool idea, and thanks for setting this up!

I typically most enjoy emotional, narrative experiences. Think Heart of the Woods, To The Moon, In Stars and Time, etc

Edit: they gave me Mutazione which looks super compelling and to my interests - thanks stranger!

Thanks for offering! Let's see what you come up with!

I really enjoyed Hyper Light Drifter but not sure I would be into hardcore soulslikes. I do like roguelites though, I liked playing Wall word. Spelunky was also good.

I got Trinity Fusion! Looks like something for me for sure! Thanks again!

Thanks that's really nice.

I like to play open world, strategy, cozy, exploration, problem solving, a lot of things.

What kind do you like playing?

Edit: I received Nova lands. It looks right up my alley, Thanks

As you can see in the amount of games and genres I hovered up last year(s), I am interested in a lot of stuff.

Mostly interesting, meaningful games which are not too long and have a good narrative or emotional impact. I also love a good puzzle game, as there the emotional impact comes from solving the puzzle and appreciating the design. But also big blockbuster experiences if they are well designed and have a captivating narrative. My favorite games I played this year are:

  • The Last of Us Part I
  • Monument Valley
  • God of War Ragnarok
  • The Case of the Golden Idol (waiting for a price dip on the sequel)
  • Thank Goodness You're Here!
  • If Found...
  • Outlast
  • Platonic
  • Cocoon
  • The Walking Dead: The Final Season

These are up my alley too!

My computer is also a potato so it’s withheld me from buying anything new these days

Very cool of OP to be doing this!

Thanks for the initiative!

Any family multiplayer that I can play with my daughter and wife?

[–] knokelmaat@beehaw.org 3 points 1 day ago

How old is your daughter?

[–] bonenode@piefed.social 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Woah, that is very different from all other giveaway approaches.

I'd like something to play with my 8 year old. We've had a lot of fun playing the Untitled Goose game, Pizza Possum, Moving out and Overcooked (the second one, the first was too difficult).

No worries if nothing fits the bill! Thanks!

Edit: thanks! Got Yellow Taxi goes Vroom. Not sure my kid will enjoy it but I play games for myself too, so I'll definitelt check this one out. Looks bizarre!

[–] knokelmaat@beehaw.org 5 points 1 day ago

I've done a few, but must sleep now, I'll continue tomorrow morning :)!

[–] muhyb@programming.dev 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Happy holidays and thanks for the gifts <3

I really love city building / management / medieval triangle but I already have many from these, would love to see more though. I also love trains and ships. I'm quite picky though, so don't send me any if you think there aren't games like these in your list. However depending on the situation, i can give some examples from my taste.

Anyway, hope people like your gifts and actually play them sometime, or at least give them a chance. \o/

Got "Airborne Kingdom". While it looks like something I might enjoy, it actually surprised me because I wasn't expecting something unusual. Kinda looks like Besieged, at least the aesthetics. Hopefully it will be fun for me.

Also, good luck with your mystery games. :)

[–] vermeil@feddit.org 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

This is awesome <3.

I like Rogue Lights and cozy Indi-games (esp. where you can hoard lots of cute animals).

[–] vermeil@feddit.org 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I got Wall World. And it looks like a really fun game. You really made my day, OP! Thank you so much! <3

[–] ook@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Wall world is quite nice, not a super deep long game but very enjoyable!

[–] vermeil@feddit.org 2 points 19 hours ago

I've been playing for a few hours and had a lot of fun. Definitely worth a try for Rogue Light fans.

[–] Maestro@fedia.io 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Ohhh, this is great. Thanks for doing this! I love point & click adventures and puzzle/mystery games.

[–] Maestro@fedia.io 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Thank you OP! I got Beyond the Edge if Owlsgard which looks awesome and right up my alley!

[–] knokelmaat@beehaw.org 1 points 1 day ago

Yeah that one really felt like a perfect match!

[–] HeadfullofSoup@kbin.earth 3 points 1 day ago

Happy holidays, and thanks for the giveaway!

I love metroidvanias and boomer shooters (who would have guessed?).

Great initiative.

EDIT: I got Valfaris. Thank you! I've never hear of it before, but it looks cool!

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 3 points 1 day ago

I like rpg's where you have a lot of options for character or team customization.

[–] thesaddreamer@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Thanks for doing this!

I like exploration games without a super difficult combat system. I also love puzzle games and farming sims!

Happy holidays!

[–] thesaddreamer@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 day ago

I got Mask of Mists, and it looks amazing! I'm excited to try it.
