Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

One image released Friday shows what appears to be a bowl of novelty condoms with a caricature of Trump’s face; the bowl has a sign saying, “Trump condom $4.50,” and each condom bears an image of Trump’s face with the text, “I’m HUUUUGE!”

Lmao, then release all of them, let's see them all Republicans. You can do that.

“We received over 95,000 photos and Democrats released just a handful. Democrats’ hoax against President Trump has been completely debunked. Nothing in the documents we’ve received shows any wrongdoing. It is shameful Rep. Garcia and Democrats continue to put politics above justice for the survivors,” the spokesperson said.

C'mon, you know theyve already quarantined the good stuff. They'll release a few salacious details, but conveniently, nothing will be actionable.

[–] Triasha@lemmy.world 0 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Actionable by who? Against who? Summers? Clinton? Congress decides when to impeach and for what reason. That's the only mechanism of enforcement against the president. They don't need to wait for the files to be released they could impeachment today for any reason.

Nothing in the files will be acted upon, in all likelihood. The action the files prompted was Epstein and Maxwell's prosecutions. This is all about public image.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 0 points 2 months ago

That's what I said, with a lot more syllables.

[–] empireOfLove2@lemmy.dbzer0.com 56 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Good. Burn Clinton too, don't give them any of this "but your guy did it too!" shit. Hang Clinton in the middle of times square and see if we care.

[–] saimen@feddit.org 16 points 2 months ago (2 children)

I heard they already are saying democrats selectively have chosen images to make trump look bad.

[–] Clasm@ttrpg.network 21 points 2 months ago

All images of trump make him look bad...

[–] Zaktor@sopuli.xyz 20 points 2 months ago

I hate when people intentionally make me look bad by sharing the pictures of me doing bad things.

[–] theneverfox@pawb.social 6 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I know, this is the dumbest counter argument ever. I've never once seen it work, but people keep saying it

[–] lka1988@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 months ago

It's because people who make that argument tend to treat politics like team sports, so they assume everyone else does as well.

[–] Dragomus@lemmy.world 46 points 2 months ago

But trump was never on the island, never left the plane, never was on the plane, never was alone in a room with epstein, never was in the client list, never was on a speed dial, never was on his birthday.
Epstein? That guy? He hardly knew him!

This Jeffery Epstein stuff looks a lot like World Economic Forum more than anything, a circle jerk of the rich and elite.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

You can find Larry Summers at both events.

[–] rumba@lemmy.zip 3 points 2 months ago

Jesus, worst use of circle jerk..... need brain bleach

[–] Mihies@programming.dev 19 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I'm HUUUUGE! Trump's condoms are typical scam of his. And hilarious.

[–] bcgm3@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

The man cannot tell the truth, so it's perfectly on-brand.

[–] LibertyLizard@slrpnk.net 18 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

But Trump has not been accused of any criminal wrongdoing, and he and his team have previously derided Epstein as a “creep” whom Trump expelled from his club.

I'll just leave this here: https://www.cleveland13news.com/story/old-epstein-allegations-resurface-online-amid-trump-and-musk-feud-as-anonymous-woman-claims-direct-i

[–] J92@lemmy.world 16 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Oh look, Apple. The bad guys do use your shit.

[–] some_kind_of_guy@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

That's probably the least surprising thing in here

[–] ThePantser@sh.itjust.works 15 points 2 months ago

“I’m HUUUUGE!”

We got Capone for tax evasion. Trump is going down for false advertising.

[–] ieatpwns@lemmy.world 13 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Holy shit I thought the “I’m huuuge “ condoms were made up shitposts

[–] RagingRobot@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I'm not saying Apple products make you a pedophile.

But it clearly helps.

[–] neidu3@sh.itjust.works 7 points 2 months ago (1 children)

100% of famous pedos in finance choose Apple.

[–] rumba@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 months ago

Probably all rich pedos. for percieved security if nothing else.

Is it bad that I want that era of Mac monitor specifically so I can mod it and use it as a general monitor. Same goes from those clear plastic colored ones.

[–] rumba@lemmy.zip 4 points 2 months ago

a of Mac monitor specifically so I can mod it and use it as a general monitor. Same goes from those clear plastic colored ones.

I think that's specifically an iMac. you can, in fact use them as thunderbolt monitors.

https://iboysoft.com/tips/use-imac-as-monitor-for-pc.html

Cinema displays also looked like that and have separate needs

https://thetechylife.com/how-do-i-connect-my-apple-cinema-display-to-my-computer/

My wife still uses a couple of cinema displays for photography editing, but on mac. Putting them on PC has been hit or miss.

[–] theneverfox@pawb.social 2 points 2 months ago

I use one, just standalone to play videos. I'd recommend it, they're really good monitors and decent speakers

[–] rumba@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 months ago

I think Apple is long considered premium.

The rich and elite would have nothing else.

They're also the ones who have enough money to travel in these 'circles'.

[–] ShaggySnacks@lemmy.myserv.one 7 points 2 months ago (1 children)

We should employ reverse psychology on Republicans.

We should be like “No, don’t release the Epstein files as it will hurt Bill Clinton (or anyone else).”

Just wait doe the Republicans to release it. Think that terrible Spiderman movie that everyone memed back into theatres.

[–] theneverfox@pawb.social 3 points 2 months ago

The problem is that this would work, but only on the masses. And they're the type that isn't going to actually read the files... And have you seen the news lately? Every station sane washes trump and the admin

Anyways, the files are going to be released soon. And frankly no matter what they release, it won't be enough to convince people that they haven't hid the worst of it

We just have to feed fuel to the fire in a few days

[–] Supervisor194@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Is this the Epstein files we've been hearing about?

[–] khannie@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

It's the trickle before the flood 🤞

[–] ShaggySnacks@lemmy.myserv.one 4 points 2 months ago

[Abigail Jackson] She pointed to Democrats who have previously been tied to Epstein through document dumps, including House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Democratic Del. Stacey Plaskett. Plaskett exchanged texts with Epstein during a 2019 congressional hearing. A Democratic consulting group asked Epstein if he wanted to participate in a fundraising dinner with Jeffries in March 2013; Jeffries has said he has no recollection of the message.

Then release the files.

[–] Digit@lemmy.wtf 3 points 2 months ago

Oh cute.
