and most humans are unaware of how to fish, and catch oysters with their bare hands.

[–] Tedesche@lemmy.world 7 points 6 days ago

“Catch” oysters? Because they’re so quick and spry?

[–] CuteLuciii@feddit.org 5 points 6 days ago (1 children)

So am i. Does that make me a north American river Otter?

I would beg to differ:

Semiconductors work by having electrical conductivity that can be controlled and modified, allowing them to act as either conductors or insulators depending on conditions. This is achieved through a process called doping, where impurities are added to the semiconductor material, creating regions that can conduct electricity more easily.

Okay but listen, if you’re an Asian small-clawed otter, or a Neotropical otter, you’d be expected to know that. We’re talking about the North American river otter here, and everyone knows what bumpkins they usually are.

[–] TheTechnician27@lemmy.world 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Here's the thing. You said a "North American river otter understands semiconductors."

Is it in the same subfamily as the other otters? Yes. No one's arguing that.

[–] darkdemize@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 week ago

Now there's a deep cut.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

They aren't bumpkins, they're just far more likely to major in pure math or biology.

[–] otter@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Listen bub, us North American River otters can be engineers, too. It's just that societal structures that hold many of my fellow species back. I don't appreciate the generalizations.

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 week ago

River Otters are just Beavers with sports scholarships.

[–] Triumph@fedia.io 25 points 1 week ago (1 children)

TIL I am probably a North American river otter.

[–] Schmuppes@lemmy.today 5 points 1 week ago

Hell yeah, brotter!

theyre just like me

[–] korendian@lemmy.zip 17 points 1 week ago

Key word being probably. You never know.

[–] kubica@fedia.io 16 points 1 week ago (1 children)

But has anyone tried to teach them?

[–] lugal@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I tried but for some reason they keep cavorting in the sun and water all day.

Maybe they are trying to teach me a lesson.

[–] randEntropy@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The American education system is in shambles.

[–] thisbenzingring@lemmy.today 10 points 1 week ago

Shortly after this picture was taken, the subject was quoted as saying

I think you have mistaken me for someone who builds a dam

[–] coherent_domain 8 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

I mean, you know why you need all these security to go into a Fab? To hide the fact that all of our chips are secretly built by otters. Indeed, human have lost the expertise to build computer chips in 1860 (Ask any one from 1860 how to build a computer chip! They will not tell you A THING! And NOT a coincident!) The deep state and Joe Biden have secretly transfered all the chip building knowledge into otters that worship them as gods.

This is why Biden passed the CHIP act, and why the deep state built a shell company TSMC all the way across the world to hide the fact from the 'MURICA PEOPLE.

BTW, they also invented the oil company Shell, so that they can have shell companies.

[–] partial_accumen@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago

This is a bit of a misnomer. While North American River otters have zero knowledge on field-effect devices, they have a good grasp of junction devices such as transistors. It would not be surprising to anyone that knows otters that they can be bi-polar.

[–] AllNewTypeFace@leminal.space 6 points 1 week ago

Well, they’re not exactly Britney Spears, are they?

[–] untorquer@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

Am i sad because I'm empathizing with a North American River Otter who looks sad or am i sad because the North American River Otter is probably unaware of how semiconductors work? Either easy North American River Otter deserves better.

I'll not stand for this pro-seal propaganda my chair is really comfy

[–] LemmyKnowsBest@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

TIL I quite likely have something in common with a river otter.

[–] LemmyKnowsBest@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

The look of cluelessness on his little furry otter face really sends it home for me.

[–] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

How much trouble would the human race be in if they figured it out?

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Not much. I don't think they have much access to gallium

[–] Madison420@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Depends on the otter gallium does exist in sea deposits and just generally dissolved in ocean water.

[–] Lazycog@sopuli.xyz 8 points 1 week ago (2 children)

You are on lemmy silly.....

@Gork@sopuli.xyz is this true?

[–] Gork@sopuli.xyz 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

No, they are secretly hoarding all the 2 nm process node to make DIMM DRAM Dams.

[–] Lazycog@sopuli.xyz 2 points 1 week ago
[–] tired_n_bored@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

That's why the world is falling apart. Otters would rather build dams instead of attending college and it shows

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

Otters don't build dams. That's beavers. Otters will happily squat in an abandoned beaver dam though. At least until it falls apart from lack of repair.

[–] Lemminary@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

They're also unaware of how frigging cute they are. :3

[–] ultrahamster64@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Haha dumbass

[–] FreeBeard@slrpnk.net 2 points 1 week ago

They will be overly excited when they find out. The termination loss afterwards will be very sad.
