Anyone recommend a video editor that is great at quick and dirty editing and transitions? I really want something that I can really iterate quickly with like almost in a photobashing style where the end result doesn’t have to be perfect, just easy and fast.

https://kdenlive.org/

It's the default open-source video editor and pretty much an allrounder.

https://www.shotcut.org/ and https://www.openshot.org/ are other options, besides the already mentioned KDEnlive.

I found Shotcut very easy to use.

kdenlive is not easy and not fast.

I would try different ones and pick the best that suits you needs like shotcut or pitivi
