What the actual… Saying that killing children is bad makes you an antisemite. Got it.

[–] hopesdead@startrek.website 34 points 1 week ago

No. Saying killing Palestinian children is bad makes you an antisemite.

Remember… racism.

Discrediting the intentions of the Israeli Government is now anti-semitic.

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 week ago

Criticizing the Israeli government for any reason makes you an antisemite. Which means I must be antisemitic as fuck.

Yeah this is just pr for antisemitism. Not that everything else about zionists wasnt.

I hope she wins. Nothing says "Don't take me seriously" like pointing at the modern iteration of Sesame Street and screaming "Jew Hater!"

[–] NoneOfUrBusiness@fedia.io 9 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Clearly the fact that she used words when she speaks is a reference to the Protocols of the Elders of Zion.

Wasn't it Hitler who said

We must secure the existence of all people and a future for young children

Or something near enough? They're basically the same person.

Larping a darker and edgier 21st century fanfic of it though; thats fine.

Not sure about the Sesame Street part. I swear I’ve seen images of her with Sesame Street characters.

She's got her own stable of stuffed animal Muppet knock-offs as part of the show. My toddler son is utterly hypnotized by it.

I'm sure there's been some kind of PBS / Ms Rachel crossover at some point. She's also worked with Blippi and a few other notable bigger name YouTube kids show creators.

Found a whole playlist of videos with “Elmo and Sesame Street”. Does Elmo have some kind of contract where he has to be credited separately when he makes appearances?

Sesame Street licensing is crazy.

Certainly possible that there's a fully separate provision for using Elmo specifically, requiring separate credits.

[–] hopesdead@startrek.website 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

That article just list different licensees and different types of uses for a license that have occurred. I remember when Elmo was so popular that he outshined the rest of Street.

My generation was the emo Elmo parody.

I remember when Elmo was so popular that he outshined the rest of Street.

I mean, there was a toy back in the 90s that was aggressively over hyped. And as Children's Television Workshop was privatized, turning children's programming into a commodity was all that mattered. But Kermit went through the same cycle in the 70s/80s, then fell out of fashion.

All I really know is she is super popular. I saw an adult dress up as her for Halloween.

Fuck Israel, genocidal scum!

[–] SupersonicHail@lemy.lol 4 points 1 week ago

Israel sucks! Fuck em.

But antisemitism 😭🤡🥴

No. This isnt antisemitism. This is justice.

IIRC they do not reuse finalists, so since Nick Fuentes, Candace Owens, and a bunch of other people were already finalists in previous years they do not use them again.

[–] Tm12@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Why not if it’s a yearly award?

[–] yeather@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 week ago

No clue, I don’t follow them on twitter and haven’t looked into it further than a tweet they put out explaining why Nick Fuentes wasn’t a finalist.

[–] idiomaddict@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

That still leaves many millions of people more antisemitic, surely

[–] yeather@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 week ago

But how many have a large enough platform to be noticed? My great grandfather might be more antisemitic but he know about 10 people still alive.
