Damn. I love this. You have a knack for composition and (maybe unintentionally) making quiet, ominous, terrorscapes. I'm going to see that distant black mountain slowly approach in my nightmares. Thank you.
Art Shareπ¨
This is a friendly community for everyone who wants to share their art with the world! Everyone is welcomed π¨
Please visit https://lemmy.world/c/artmarket as well! This is a community for artists to post their portfolios and announce availability to take commissions, as well as get visibility for Ko-fi, Patreon, and other funding for art activities.
Rules
AI Art: While we appreciate AI generated art, there are more appropriate communities to post that type of art to. Please keep posts to non-AI generated art only. This rule includes AI art that was then manually manipulated (e.g. drawing on top of something generated by AI).
NSFW Policy: Nudity and suggestive content has always been a part of art, but it may be something that some users don't wish to see or cannot view in certain circumstances (e.g. at work). If your work contains nudity or suggestive content, please mark it as NSFW. Work that contains nudity or suggestive content that is not marked as NSFW will be taken down. As long as the NSFW tag is used, we welcome nude or suggestive subject matter. If you aren't sure if your work is NSFW or not, just ask yourself, "Could I look at this at a typical office job and not get into trouble?" If you're still not sure after that, you should probably mark it as NSFW just to be on the safe side.
Spam: Please do not spam this community. Self promotion is fine if you just want people to be aware of your work, but blatant attempts at spam will result in the past being removed and possibly a ban. If you aren't sure if what you are posting is spam, please contact the moderator first.
Conduct: Be nice, and don't be a jerk. Constructive criticism is OK, but don't be mean. Encouragement is always welcomed.

Has a bit of a Bob Rossy vibe, but in a modern way
Hell yeah! Love Bob Ross. I watched him all the time as a kid (when new seasons were still being made)
This is so cool, I donβt think Iβve ever seen a painting with this kind of focus (sharpness, not subject) and it works really well for the scene!
You mention sharpness. I don't know if it was intentional, but I really like how the cabin looks sharper and more defined than the trees and the landscape. The man-made stuff looks very different compared to the organic nature of the trees. The trees look softer, fluffier, less defined.
Thank you and it was. I'm trying to draw the eye to the cabin in the middle.
Thank you! I was hoping to draw the eye into the building with it.
Pretty, but easy to mistake the fall foliage for fire!
Edit: holy hell I need to proofread
Um... What?
And thank you.
I think footage is foliage, but Iβm lost on the second βfor.β
Oh wow, really messed that one up. Swipe has been getting worse and worse...
Oh lol, that makes more sense! And yeah I can see what you mean now. Thank you!
Yeah, what indeed
OP corrected it if you want to look back at the comment π
This is great! It's nice to surprise yourself with what you can do when you just go for it π
Thank you! And it totally is. The decision to paint daily and to try stuff I didn't think I could do has been a great choice!
I am never gonna see a merman. Ever.
But that is a great picture! Really like the style.
Ummmmm..... What? π
There is a Horror/Comedy Movie called "Cabin in the Woods" where this is a quote from :)
Ohhhhhh damn. And I've seen that movie. Maybe I'll catch the next cool kid reference?
Thank you π
