Mail arrived today from yourshaving in Spain.

Since I bought a Aventus dupe perfume, I knew I needed this also in soap and aftershave form. I hesited a while whether I should go for Stirling Executive Man or rather Opuntia, but the fact that the Stirling soap was out of stock everywhere simplified the choice.

And since @djundjila@sub.wetshaving.social was saying good things about Koke, I also added it (free shipping might also have played a role...). I got a freebie Treet Platinum pack of blades.

Koke smells - interesting. Opuntia seems to be less of a pineapple bomb than the perfume I have, and the aftershave seemed more complex at a first smell.

Nice haul!

I think Executive Man is still out of production for the time being. Something about the dupe supplier no longer being available.

Good stuff. I don't recall if either of these have been nominated for BVWSC in the past :-)

Is there a list of nominations/winners somewhere?

No, but this is something I could do

First contact: I reserve judgment. It is like nothing else I've ever smelled.

Yeah, it's a wild one 😆

My wife couldn't stand it at first sniff ("rotten chewing gum") but came around to liking it on me

I'd rather go for 'wild animal in an abandoned garden'

I think that the best dupes are those that are in-family with the fragrance they resemble, but aren't positioned as dupes. Wrt Aventus, I have Executive Man (Stirling), and Venture (Captain's Choice). I much prefer Opuntia and Succès (Ethos Grooming Essentials) and I don't consider them to be dupes. I think the fragrance from these vendors, was built to complement Aventus if it is used as a final fragrance, but also be unique enough to stand alone.
