I know Tlaib isn't perfect but she's often the only voice anywhere in the US government that's even remotely rational and I appreciate that about her.

Is it me or do the number of pro-Israel comments and “um aktully Israel said it was a Hamas rocket 🤓” community note feel off? Don’t get me wrong, I don’t doubt Americans are still propagandized to hell and back, but it feels so artificial when most people’s first response is going to be reeling in shock over this before meekly accepting whatever state department line (or, at best, opposing Israel in a limpwristed lib way), not dying on a hill from the onset.
If I had to guess, I’d say pro-Israel propaganda mills and social media organizers are working overtime, directly against individuals they assume will reach the most people (ie, elected officials like Tlaib).
I was going to make a quip like "but still vote for him though" but apparently she hasn't endorsed him like other squad members. Or at least I can't find anything about it.
She's the only one that has shown to have any integrity.
Compare the response to this with the recent Ukrainian missile hitting a market.
The latter, people defended Ukraine saying it never would’ve happened had Russia not invaded, therefore Russia is still responsible.
I support this line of thinking, to an extent. I highly doubt Ukrainians wanted to blow up their own citizens. And if it’s true that Hamas hit the hospital, I highly doubt they wanted to blow up their own people.
But liberals will not extend this logic to Palestine. Or anyone who isn’t aligned with western interests. It’s depressing really.
