look man, he's witty and trying to spread the good word, but folk music is hardly rocket surgery. If instead of shitposting, I turned them into poems and put them over a generic chord progression, I could record 10 albums

Source is from a comment on a post that was deleted about how the new female japanese PM gets by on 2 hours of sleep , and is yet another counterexample to "If women were in charge, everything would be handled so much better and with kindness" which has many more counterexamples than examples now that we've had some female world leaders.

The world would be so much better with women in charge.

The women in charge we end up with :

(nb : I’m not saying women are incapable of power, just that assuming women would be great leaders is a stupid idea. There are examples of great/not horrid female leaders like Jacinda Ardern, but thatcher, this woman, Kirchner, theresa may, the lettuce woman are all terrible)

PS: I'm not exactly Zeal & Ardor , so obviously this process was not as fun for me as it would be for Jesse Welles, I also spent about 10 mins to prove a point.

I am pointing out that there are ways to be productive, and that some things are easier to make lots of than others. You should not be surprised that a folk musician can make lots of albums in a year, because the process is fairly streamlined compared to other forms of music.

Most of the times, when musicians challenge themselves to be very productive, they generally tend to aim for music like pop or folk music, because it requires less complexity.

Would you like to claim that "it's easier to wrote a 2 hour long symphony than a 2 minute folk song" is true?

It's not about what's more """productive"""" you effing shareholder. It's not about which is more difficult. It's about the fact this person was not only brave enough to produce music actively critical of the regime, but has done so with enough talent to gain meaningful recognition. It's the same respect for Rage Against the Machine; the music is great, but the focus is the proliferation of the message. Any jackass can get on the internet and say whatever they want, but being able to convert those sentiments into music, publish that music, and get the level of attention Jesse has for it is the accomplishment.

So it's not a concerto in E minor, sure. But it pulls attention to the issues we're facing. Listen to The Poor and tell me that message isn't worth making cuz it's easy. Listen to Join ICE and tell me it doesn't matter because it's too streamlined.

Ok, now you're just devolving into nonsense.

I'm trying to help empower people into thinking that they can also achieve things that they think only happen to other people so that they can be more creative and satisfied in their life. I am pointing my own experience as common and the wrong thing to do.

I literally went to therapy and took anti depressants to deal with this issue. I was getting burnt out by work and additional responsabilities, and turning to just easy pleasures like playing proc-gen rougelikes and felt like I was wasting my life. My therapist introduced me to the idea of the eudaimonic/hedonistic balance, and it's important to keep a balance between these so that you aren't burning yourself out, and also not looking back at the month that went by as a complete fucking waste.

Because when you look at other people that appear to be "creatives" you need to see yourself as being capable enough to be like them, and not feel defeatism in "oh no, I can't ever do that, because I don't have what they have".
