If you have this problem and can create files in the directory, where it is stored, create an empty file in the upmost folder of the game called ".nomedia" (with the period).

This will tell android to ignore this folder when searching for pictures and video.

Even easier solution for me, I installed the fossify gallery app and disabled my phones default one, and that lets me selectively whitelist and blacklist media directories

[–] Magnum@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Even easier solution for me, I flashed GrapheneOS onto my device so I can limit the storage scope of my gallery app to my picture folder.

[–] pyre@lemmy.world 6 points 2 weeks ago

even easier solution for me, i built my own smart phone with my bare hands and programmed my own software with built-in algorithm that auto detects the difference between game assets and the photorealistic drawings that i create with charcoal and pigments i extract from nature myself.

oh wait none of this shit is easier than copying a dummy file into a folder; i was just being silly.

[–] SpongyAneurysm@feddit.org 4 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Does that also work for the album-art images I have in my mp3-collection? Or will it ignore the music as well?

[–] db2@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

It'll ignore the music. Why isn't your art embedded in the mp3 though?

[–] SpongyAneurysm@feddit.org 1 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

Dunno. Most of that collection I just got from a friend.

Seems to me like having the data just once in a folder is more space efficient than redundantly storing it in every single file's metadata? I mean, its just a few kB each, but even that adds up.

And also there's sometimes not just the cover artwork for an album, but also back-cover, an image of the disc itself and the whole booklet.

[–] Fiery@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 2 weeks ago

Depending on the image gallery you're using it might respect .noimage

[–] Petter1@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 2 weeks ago

iPhone users be like

[–] exu@feditown.com 38 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Good gallery apps allow you to include/exclude paths

[–] altkey@lemmy.dbzer0.com 16 points 2 weeks ago

Or a .nomedia file in a folder irrc.

[–] Zwiebel@feddit.org 10 points 2 weeks ago

Like Fossify Gallery (former Simple Gallery) for example

[–] ceenote@lemmy.world 29 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

I have a feeling that you and I are about to become very close.

The nips are saying Caius Cosades, but the underwear is saying Sims 3.

[–] Xella@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago

EverQuest skins are like this 😹

[–] krashmo@lemmy.world 18 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

The fact that texture files of characters are flattened out never fails to get a laugh out of me. I get the function of it but they look so ridiculous it's hard not to giggle when you see it

[–] xiii@lemmy.world 6 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

If you’d replace the word ‘flattened’ with the specific term ‘unwrapped’ it’s starting to make even more sense.

[–] krashmo@lemmy.world 9 points 2 weeks ago

Yeah it makes sense it's just funny looking. Like the devs skinned each character and made a pelt rug out of them.

[–] Skullgrid@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago

The thing that's weird to me is that it's all continuous instead of a specific way of unfolding the "net"

[–] peteypete420@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 weeks ago

Its also hard when I giggle

[–] Mika@piefed.ca 15 points 2 weeks ago

This guy looks like he has a hidden stash in a swamp at Seyda Neen.

[–] grubberneonbelly@lemmy.world 12 points 2 weeks ago

Do you need something, outlander?

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 11 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

reference to the dr who, the crazy chick that had so much plastic surgery, somehow became immortal as a piece of skin.

[–] Kratzkopf@discuss.tchncs.de 12 points 2 weeks ago

Moisturize me!

[–] ohellidk@sh.itjust.works 8 points 2 weeks ago
[–] Matty_r@programming.dev 7 points 2 weeks ago

I remember you could customise your character the same way in the files in GTA 3

[–] PugJesus@piefed.social 7 points 2 weeks ago

Keep moving.

[–] pruwybn@discuss.tchncs.de 7 points 2 weeks ago

This needs a Gowron edit

[–] Trainguyrom@reddthat.com 6 points 2 weeks ago

Hey, what's the fate of the Open MicroWave project?

[–] FippleStone@aussie.zone 3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Hasn't been updated in yonks, but there's a pretty up to date port being maintained here:
