[–] galacticbackhoe@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago

Hey ugh...you wanna drink?

[–] BremboTheFourth@piefed.ca 13 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I could see humblebrag, but also ragebait. Mostly because the people using words like that tend to enrage me

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 16 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Humbleslop, boomerbrag, healthbait, gendershit.

[–] BremboTheFourth@piefed.ca 9 points 1 month ago

Healthshit. Gotta be a better term, an updated version of snake oil.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 22 points 1 month ago
[–] gon@lemmy.dbzer0.com 14 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Can't we just call it snake oil?

[–] IAmNorRealTakeYourMeds@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

snakeoilslop is kinda long, but I'm ok with it

[–] gon@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

In the oil, straight up slopping it. And by "it", hehe, let's just say... my snake

I’m partial to “Vagina Eggs” myself.

One way to solve that is to stop going to Reddit.

Yeah after blocking everything related to trump, my feed is basically shitposts and ai. Really makes me want to just check out on the internet.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 11 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Somewhat off topic, but this makes me think, I’d be curious to see a list of the most blocked communities on Lemmy. Instance admins could make that available.

[–] TachyonTele@piefed.social 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)
[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I meant the communities, not the instances.

Like I had to block a com that was just some guy with a bot reposting a bunch of shit from Reddit, because it kept shoeing up in my all feed. I’m curious, because I bet that has to be the most blocked com on Lemmy. But yeah probably followed by a bunch of hexbear coms. The nsfw can be toggled without blocking right?

[–] TachyonTele@piefed.social 1 points 1 month ago

I see what you mean. Yeah I've had to block some bot and just plain weird comms.

The nsfw stuff is filtered by that toggle, yeah, but only if the person creating the comm checks it.

[–] TheBat@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Maybe politics? I guess many non-Americans have blocked it.

[–] turdcollector69@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I've been feeling more and more that I want to quit the internet almost entirely.

Like you can't get away from it completely and gaming is still fun but all of the social aspects have either become slop or incredibly toxic.

[–] Tlf@feddit.org 2 points 1 month ago

Unfortunately public life tends to rely more and more on Internet services. I think the right to remain offline needs to be established, otherwise there is no chance of checking out like that

[–] TankovayaDiviziya@lemmy.world 23 points 1 month ago

We should end these and start class war. Class divide is the root cause of it all.

[–] Fedizen@lemmy.world 18 points 1 month ago

Truly the jerkle of life.

[–] VerilyFemme@lemmy.blahaj.zone 11 points 1 month ago

Honestly, is this a bad thing? It's so easy to get lost in the cacophony of internet noise that being able to identify the intent of a post is kinda helpful.

[–] roserose56@lemmy.zip 10 points 1 month ago

Don't forget every thing Trump says and USA users fighting in the comments.

[–] yumyumsmuncher@feddit.uk 7 points 1 month ago

trump trump Epstein Epstein

[–] arin@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

Ai ai brain rot

[–] MehBlah@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

He can't see the zoomer angst?

[–] WoodScientist@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

Not like this...

[–] ddplf@szmer.info 5 points 1 month ago

Everyone's facebook feed. And you can't do anything about it, can't even block shit because it just replaces the shitcontent with brainrot.

[–] lechekaflan@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Naturally, the Facebook app simply pushes a lot more unwanted content it recommends based on one's usage patterns.
