  • Pre-shave: Face wash w/ hot water
  • Razor: Henson Mild (v1)
  • Blade: Lord Platinums (2nd use)
  • Brush: Yaqi Tiberwolf Synthetic 26mm
  • Soap: NSC Coffee (discontinued)
  • Passes: 1x WTG on the cheeks, 2 x WTG on the neck, 2x ATG on the cheeks
  • Post-shave: Alum, TFS witch hazel
  • Growth: 7 days (very thick & long stubble)
  • Result: BBS on the cheeks, neck acceptable

NSC stands for Nordic Shaving Company, they're based in Finland but ship world wide. They have a solid selection of shaving supplies. They also have a brick-and-mortar store. Vintage Shave, which is also Finland-based, has a larger selection of soaps and razors and I think they also ship world wide. They sell out of their warehouse. I recently ordered another 100 pack of Lord Platinums and a tub of Rasozero Rinfrescante from them, I want to see how it compares to Proraso (Rasozero is Italian, as well).

Enjoy your weekend ladies and gents!

EDIT: Even though the Coffee scent has been discontinued, they've got some smaller tubs in stock still. They used to use a non-vegan base for all their soaps, but then they went all out on vegan soaps and got rid of the coffee scent in the process. TBH, it doesn't smell much like coffee, but rather like milk chocolate (and a whiff of cardboard). The coffee base contains shea butter and lanolin.

I have that coffee soap. Such a funny base: sorry soft dark brown croap mixed with harder little soap spheres.

Enjoyable enough

I have it in the 4.9 oz tub so I should get many shaves out of it. When they went vegan they also shrunk the tubs to 4 oz and ditched the coffee scent. Enjoy it while you've got it, I know I will.

Tobacco Dome - 15. November 2025

  • Brush: Omega Roma Colossea 31 mm
  • Razor: Leaf Thorn
  • Blade: Derby Premium (1)
  • Lather: Barrister and Mann - The Full Measure of Man
  • Post Shave: Zingari Man - The Master
  • Additional Care: Osma alum block

2-pass head shave. Gave myself a nasty cut on the back of my neck, but don't know how it happened.

First try of the WSDB SOTD post generator. Feels quite natural and fast to use. I like that I'm not locked into specific products and don't need an account for it!

  • Brush: Wolf Whiskers - "Gianmaria" w/Maggard 26mm Synthetic
  • Razor: RazoRock GOAT
  • Blade: Shaverboy (1)
  • Lather: Wet Shaving Products - Black Amber Vanille - Soap
  • Post Shave: Noble Otter - The Night Before - Aftershave
  • Post Shave: Nivea - Sensitive - Balm

I decided to whip out one of the "weird" blades that I somehow have. Shaverboy came on the scene 3 or 4 years ago, sending all of the wetshaving YouTube influencers at the time free blades to use in their videos. I think I got some with a Razor Company order, maybe as a free sample? Or maybe I actually paid money for them? With a stupid name and a silly logo, I'm not in their demographic.

I remember emailing the Shaverboy company asking about where they are made (the packaging, website, etc. made no mention of it). They responded that they are proudly made in China to their exacting specificiations.

Anyway, how do they shave? Most people would call them "dull", or "horrible", or "garbage", but I'll be nice and just call them "mild". The shave I got is super smooth but I give all credit to the razor. The blade was definitely tuggy, but I can't argue with the results.

  • Razor: Zwilling J. A. Henckels Friodur 14 (8/8", extra hollow ground, stainless steel)

November 15, 2025

  • Brush: Zenith B40 28mm Boar
  • Razor: F.W. Engels Leader 6/8 Full Hollow Square Point
  • Razor: Geneva Cutlery Co. Heavy 6/8 Hollow Ground Square Point
  • Lather: Noble Otter - Ace - Soap
  • Toner: Thayers - Coconut - Toner
  • Aftershave: Noble Otter - Ace - Aftershave

2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.

This was a test shave that compared an edge from an Escher stone to an edge from a Vermont Mottled Grey stone. The Escher edge was on the F. W. Engels razor, and the Vermont edge was on the Genco razor. The cutting performance of the two razors seemed identical and the face feel of the two edges was very close. I thought that the Escher edge felt a tiny bit softer.

This was a very confortable shave, and Tundra Artica is glorious. I should probably get the aftershave. The Bingcha brush is also very nice – I get why @DaveWave94@sub.wetshaving.social talked about synthetic superiority. I will not retire my horsehair brushes, probably.

Have a good night!
