without air traffic controllers?

[–] LodeMike@lemmy.today 5 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (2 children)

Birds have a compass built into them. No traffic controllers they fly into windows all the time.

[–] python@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Maybe they should consider flying into Linux instead

[–] LodeMike@lemmy.today 2 points 1 month ago

*laugh track*

[–] MeThisGuy@feddit.nl 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

that's because they're drunk on fermented berries

[–] bobgobbler@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 month ago

Who knew pigeons have such human problems with drinking and flying.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

[–] blackris@discuss.tchncs.de 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Amazing how bad many people seem to be at eating.

[–] janus2@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

[–] yopyop@sh.itjust.works 21 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Duh. If there's nobody to change their batteries of course you're not gonna see them.

[–] python@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Man, you'd think the government would upgrade to Li-Ion Batteries with proper Induction Charging Stations, but apparently they don't value population surveillance enough to cough up the budget for that. Typical 🙄

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 19 points 1 month ago (1 children)

No terrorist attacks, "moon landings," or global pandemics either. Think about it.

[–] ignotum@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The illuminati lizardpeople are furloughed for the duration of the shutdown

[–] peoplebeproblems@midwest.social 18 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Pidgeons. Geese. I haven't seen a raven, or owl, or most song birds.

It's almost like... They aren't real 👀

[–] OpenStars@piefed.social 8 points 1 month ago

Or won't be, soon enough.

[–] AcidiclyBasicGlitch@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

There's also bird flu, and the U.S. government wasn't really doing a great job of keeping track of that even before the shut down. I guess we'll find out for sure eventually, but it just depends on which happens first. Government reopens, birds migrate north in the spring, or we all start spreading/contacting bird flu, and nobody will tell us why we're suddenly not seeing as many people outside either.

[–] peoplebeproblems@midwest.social 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Are you proposing the government drones that we haven't been seeing are spreading weaponized drone flu, or that they have a slowed production until the spring because they are planning something much bigger?

[–] AcidiclyBasicGlitch@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)
[–] peoplebeproblems@midwest.social 2 points 1 month ago

Of course. It all makes perfect sense.

[–] capcool@lemmy.world 15 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Because of the lack of funds, they cant spy. HF, reading news paper did give me some knowledge.

[–] joelfromaus@aussie.zone 4 points 1 month ago

The micro-hydrogen Avifuel Cells™ they run on are super expensive.

[–] Rcklsabndn@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 month ago

There's definitely a spot I walk by that is crawling with pigeons that get fed daily for squab farming.

But I get the joke.

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I have seen geese, but they're Canadian geese.

[–] PugJesus@piefed.social 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Government drones gone rogue

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 3 points 1 month ago

No I think the Canadian government is taking advantage of the situation. I mean, where do you think Canadian geese are manufactured?

[–] hemmes@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

South we fly, motha’ fucker

[–] orenj@lemmy.kde.social 1 points 1 month ago

I saw a huge flock of them at the beach interspersed with a larger flock of seabirds. What are they planning?
