The Wisconsin Governor just had a one word response: “No”
This is outrageous. Telling states to "undo" benefits after people already spent the money on groceries is cruel and absurd, and it will only punish kids, seniors, and working families who had nothing to do with this political mess.
Good on governors refusing to claw it back and threatening lawsuits, because you literally cannot reverse a loaf of bread or diapers. If the feds try to cancel reimbursements or hold states liable, they should be prepared to be dragged through court and public outrage.
This isn't a legal technicality, it's a political stunt to weaponize hunger. Shame on whoever thinks threatening food security in a shutdown is acceptable.
Cruel is the point.
