It connects straight to the bus, instead of further away. It's mostly just equal to the mag placement without the need for a barrel to get something to "get up to speed." It's fast because it's already there! 😃

What makes a gun a "bullpup"?
The magazine and action are behind the trigger, instead of in front of it.
It gives the barrel more length (allowing a more powerful or accurate shot) without making the gun itself longer. There are technical and ergonomic problems that sometimes pop up, though.
Regardless, it looks really cool in almost all cases.
