“If you don’t finish your vegetables, it going to send you to school in FLORIDA!”

[–] NichEherVielleicht@feddit.org 9 points 13 hours ago (1 children)
[–] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 9 points 11 hours ago

Nah, just regular Florida.

[–] DaMummy@lemmy.world 159 points 18 hours ago (3 children)

Don't joke about that stuff. There's literally people who live in America right now. Send thoughts and prayers.

[–] ignotum@lemmy.world 56 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

The worst part is that if they die in america, they die in real life!

[–] SeductiveTortoise@piefed.social 5 points 13 hours ago (2 children)

That's ridiculous. I think they just wake up from a fever dream of opulence and a superiority complex.

[–] ignotum@lemmy.world 5 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

You'd think so but no, they say it's because the place is cursed, something about it being built on an indian burial ground or something

[–] SeductiveTortoise@piefed.social 3 points 10 hours ago

*Including burying those first Americans first.

[–] faythofdragons@slrpnk.net 4 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

I think they just wake up from a fever dream of opulence

Ugh, I think my fever dream is bugged.

[–] SeductiveTortoise@piefed.social 4 points 10 hours ago

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

[–] Engywuck@lemmy.zip 9 points 15 hours ago* (last edited 15 hours ago) (1 children)

Yeah. Thoughts and prayers will surely help a lot. Food is going to magically appear on their tables.

You vote idiot politicians and you get idiotic political choices. Now, that's a surprise.

[–] MeThisGuy@feddit.nl 5 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

well if only we could turn water into wine (and a snek into a loaf of bread or some shit?)

[–] Engywuck@lemmy.zip 3 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

I'd prefer a wheat beer, tbh, but a good red wine is ok.

[–] MeThisGuy@feddit.nl 3 points 13 hours ago

turn bushels into barrels then, fine by me.

A family that's all one race? I haven't seen this since the 90s.

[–] explodicle@sh.itjust.works 14 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Visit the South. Or actually, don't.

[–] Nomorereddit@lemmy.today 3 points 11 hours ago

[–] NichEherVielleicht@feddit.org 12 points 15 hours ago (1 children)
[–] herrvogel@lemmy.world 15 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

Never seen it. Is it good? Where is it streaming?

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 8 points 11 hours ago* (last edited 11 hours ago)

It's pretty mediocre. It's on Geddy.

[–] BeigeAgenda@lemmy.ca 8 points 16 hours ago

It definitely has a Hallmark or Tyler Perry look.

[–] salty_chief@lemmy.world 11 points 19 hours ago (2 children)

According to Save the Children International, in 2023 about 17.6 million children were “born into hunger” in countries where at least 25 % of the population is undernourished. The top 10 countries in that group included (in roughly that order): Democratic Republic of the Congo (DR Congo), Uganda, Madagascar, Afghanistan, Kenya, Somalia, Mozambique, Yemen, Chad and Zambia.

[–] lurch@sh.itjust.works 13 points 16 hours ago

A new challenger for this sad top 10 has appeared.

[–] MissJinx@lemmy.world 0 points 7 hours ago

someone got butthurt

[–] verdantbanana@lemmy.world 10 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Seeing this meme will still not be enough to get people riled up enough to take to the streets

[–] Warl0k3@lemmy.world 6 points 14 hours ago

Honestly, pretty glad a single mid meme isn't enough to get people into the streets. Would kinda cheapen the whole movement if that was the impetus.
