November 8th, 2025

  • Brush: Rad Dinosaur Creations "Nebulagance" - TurnNShave Quartermoon 26mm Synthetic
  • Razor: Ever-Ready Streamline
  • Blade: Accuforge GEM Microcoat (2)
  • Lather: Chicago Grooming Co. - Discordia - Soap
  • Post Shave: Chicago Grooming Co. - Discordia - Aftershave
  • Post Shave: Oleo & Co. - Facial Toner - Toner

Quick shave this morning before a busy day today. The Streamline is giving me decent shaves, but it feels a little harsh still. I'm withholding judgement until the blade is a bit more broken in.

Have a great Saturday, y'all.

Accuforge? Did they take over Personna?

[–] snooting@wetshav.ing 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

My understanding is that Accutec, the company that was producing Personna blades for the US market, no longer has a partnership with Personna and can no longer use their brand name. Because of this, they’ve rebranded to Accuforge.

Same blades, different name, as far as I’m aware.

OK. Thanks! I have enough Personna GEM PFTE blades to last many years.

Is this your Streamline? Do you know which generation it is? https://wiki.wetshav.ing/Curated_Articles/Streamline

I need to break mine out. I love the heft, the style, the thick high quality chrome plating... It's so beautiful.

[–] snooting@wetshav.ing 2 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

No, I'm borrowing it from JoboozeRum. It's a gen 2.

It's definitely a beautiful razor, but I'm not sure I love how it shaves. More experimentation required!

Thanks for the wiki link. I'd read this a while ago but had forgotten all about it. Great stuff.

  • Brush: Zenith B40 28mm Boar
  • Razor: Gillette President Y-2
  • Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Stainless (Green) (1)
  • Lather: Ariana & Evans - The Undersea - Soap
  • Toner: Thayers - Coconut - Toner
  • Aftershave: Ariana & Evans - The Undersea - Aftershave

2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.

I'm continuing to enjoy BBS Novemboar. Almost done with my A&E soaps. I think Undersea is blended very well. It's obviously aquatic but keeps me guessing while I use it.

Yesterday's Gillette President was a restored model that was gold plated, but this one is an unrestored, vintage rhodium version. Even though I rarely pick up my DE razors these days, I enjoy them when I do use them.

November 8th, 2025: Very nice!

  • Brush: Maggard Razors - Tuxedo 24mm Synthetic
  • Razor: RazoRock GOAT
  • Blade: Zorrik Super Platinum (8)
  • Lather: House of Mammoth - You & I (Will Die) - Soap
  • Post Shave: Chatillon Lux - Nefertiti - Aftershave
  • Post Shave: Nivea - Sensitive - Balm
  • Fragrance: House of Mammoth - Jitterbug - EdP

After 5 days of varying levels of having no water, water full of bleach, cold water only, etc., the house is finally up and running! We got a new boiler with fancy new zone pumps, new indirect water heater, well tank, well filter, a UV light that the water runs through (just in case), and most importantly -- a new water softener that doesn't make us fail fecal bacteria tests! The old softener was bypassed when we bought the house, and after using it for a while we found out why it was bypassed. We couldn't pass a well water test, and dishes would sometimes smell foul. We bypassed it again, treated the system, and all of our problems went away (except for the water being slightly hard... just enough to be annoying). So replacing it was an easy decision, especially since we replaced everything else at the same time!

It's so nice having soft water again. Super soft water with 0 hardness isn't my style either -- it's slimy and things slip out of your hands. I have a mixing valve in the mail which will let me add in a bit of untreated water to make it more manageable.

Along with some car repairs on my wife's 2006 Xterra and a new dishwasher, it's shaping up to be an expensive week. These are things that we've been planning on doing for 3 or 4 years, so it's very nice to have it all coming together.

Happy to hear your water is back to normal. Super soft water is basically what I have around my area of Germany. Takes a bit more to rinse lather off, but it's way better for tea, coffee and drinking it directly from the tap. There's always a tradeoff I guess 🤷🏻‍♂️

  • Brush: RazoRock Beehive 28 mm
  • Razor: Stando Perun
  • Blade: BIC Chrome Platinum
  • Lather: E&S Rasage - Shaman
  • Post-Shave: OAM - Oli del benessere sensitive skin toner; Alterra Men sensitive ASB
  • Passes & Info: single pass WTG head shave to avoid upsetting some previously irritated areas. Worked well. Not very close, but really comfortable.

I'm still tired but I wanted to shave again. Got a bit of a head cold at the moment, but nothing serious.

I've chosen a mild razor, slick soap and just went WTG in order to avoid scraping up some nicks from my last head shave. The result was a very comfortable shave all around. Have a nice time!

Given that my previous posts cluttered up the SOTD threads a lot, I made the conscious decision to keep everything brief here. Everything aside from shaving and related topics will from now on only appear in the FTF thread.

[–] snooting@wetshav.ing 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Comfortable is priority number one! If the shave isn't that close, well then you just get to shave more often. :)

[–] DaveWave94@wetshav.ing 2 points 1 month ago

I agree. I mean, I like a smooth dome as much as any other sly bald guy, but I need to stop chasing BBS perfect results every time.

November 8th, 2025: SLS

  • Brush: Rad Dinosaur Creations "Nebulagance" - TurnNShave Quartermoon 26mm Synthetic
  • Razor: Ever-Ready Streamline

  • Lather: Barrister and Mann - Paganini's Violin - Soap
  • Post Shave: Barrister and Mann - Paganini's Violin - Aftershave

Decent shave, minimum irritation (a couple weepers). Still trying to figure out how I feel about how this Streamline shaves.
