GenX here. I thought they were dope but never knew anyone who had one. I'd love it but my drunk ass would fall into the pit every night. About fell in our little 150G pond last night, fell in with both feet 3 weeks ago.

My friend's lake cabin had one. It was dope AF. Fuck this article

Millenial, myself: I had extended family that had sunken living rooms (and one great aunt who had a bitchin' split-level home). I still think those are super nice, and I build them into my Sims homes (the only home I'll ever own 😭).

I think bunker living rooms are about to be big, I’ve already ordered an excavator and ten trucks of concrete to build mine.

Does anyone know where you can buy lead-lined steel doors?

Everything on there is filled with lead

Lead is too expensive to mine nowadays. They use artificial lead made with micro plastics.

...you can turn them into grease pits for hot rods...

My ex father in law built a cabin in northern Alberta with a very cozy sunken couch/seating area around the wood stove. Always wanted something like that. They weren’t swingers, though he did carve the most beautiful boob book ends. He was a wonderful guy.

Only one of these I’ve been in was in Mexico
