Women only trans inclusive This is an inclusive community for all things women. Whether you're here for make up tips, feminism or just friendly chit chat, we've got you covered.

Rules…

  1. Women only… trans women are women, and transphobic or gender critical talk isn’t allowed. Anyone under the trans umbrella (e.g. non-binary, bigender, agender) is free to decide whether a women's community is a good fit for them.
  2. Don’t be a dick. No personal attacks, no aggression, play nice.
  3. Don’t hate on groups, hatefilled talk about groups is not allowed. Ever.
  4. No governmental politics, so no talk of Trump actions etc. We recommend Feminism@beehaw.org for that, but here is an escape from it.
  5. New accounts or users with few comments may have their posts removed to prevent spam and bad-faith participation.

I do agree. Doesn't take anything away from men that was theirs to take in the first place. Just trying to lift women up doesn't squash anyone down.

I agree. Most men have never had their privilege properly challenged. Many have never even recognized they have privilege. I think that feminism, which is more focused on equality and raising women up, makes them feel threatened.

I mean, no matter how unjst that advantage is, feminism is aiming to take that advantage away.

I'd argue feminism is still a pretty large net gain for men. But I doubt the "I hAtE fEmErNsM" crowd would be willing to hear those arguments.

I honestly think feminism gives a lot to more to men than patriarchy does. Patriarchy teaches men to "suffer in silence", to amputate huge swathes of their own psyche, and takes away from our ability to form meaningful relationships with women.

Judging from the "our" in your comment there, you appear to have not read the rules

Losing an advantage that you were told was an entitlement can feel like something has been taken.

Scarcity mindset hurts us all. Toxic media for men is geared toward people who are already struggling, tells them women want to take what little they have left. Too bad it's a strategy that works.

People gotta read Belle Hooks. Feminism is for everyone.

I agree. Feminism is about choice and opportunity and equal standing. If a man doesnt want to let any women have that, theyre a problem.

Yep, the only thing feminism "takes away" is the things that made men think they're our betters. Turns out, when you've built an identity on your own sense of superiority, having the playing field leveled by elevating everyone else feels a lot like losing.
