I don't really disagree, but at the same time, some of the things mentioned in this article have other explanations than just people being narcissistic.
It talks about people finding it more important to be well off financially and more focused on stuff like loneliness and unemployment as opposed to global issues. Well, everything has become absurdly expensive, and it's become increasingly difficult to meet people naturally (COVID really did not help here). It's often difficult for people to make ends meet, and people are getting laid off left and right. With these sorts of local issues, focusing on global ones is understandably difficult.
Additionally, it's focused on young people, but I think the narcissism is just as prevalent (if not moreso) in older generations. Perhaps when they were young themselves they were less selfish and self-absorbed, but it definitely doesn't seem that way now.
