When I read the full transcript of the interview, I realized there had been no pushback, no corrections, no challenging follow-ups. The entire interview had been an open-ended opportunity for Trump to tell rambling lies, only to have them cleaned up into a more polished product.

On the plus side; very few people respect established brands and institutions anymore.

I think that is only true for a small demographic.

Older people tend to respect the "respected" news corporations that have been sane washing a lot of what the regime is doing. But they also believe just about anything that confirms their corporate bias from facebook and other internet sources.

Younger people don't trust legacy news media as much but seem to rely on amature pundits to tell them how to think.

Very few people do their own analysis or come to their own conclusions.

I'm not saying we're reasonable, I'm saying respecting the 'journalistic institution' over 'podcast Dave' isn't really a thing anymore, because the enshittification spiral has become so universal I sometimes expect the local birds to start bugging me about weight loss pills.
