Can we just... not?

The Military Industrial Complex forces the US to always be at war somewhere around the world. Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Palantir (the big one now), and many others are the reason the US is doing this military campaign. Gotta keep those shareholders happy.

How are they already bored with invading our own cities? I'm not saying that I endorse any of this shit-show, but can we please just leave our neighbors alone?

Papa Naranja, tenemos muchos personas aqui. ¿Porque necesitas tambien chinga con los personas aya? Iqualmente, por favor no chingale con nosotros. Vayas al dormir, el viejo mejor, por favor.

Uh, this is the second neighbour/ally/trilateral trade partner who's sovereignty he's threatened

Yes, but that was BEFORE he soft-launched martial law against cities that vote against him. Deploying troops is a huge escalation over threats and emboldens his administration while desensitizing us to his horrors.

The last I heard, we've now murdered 10 boatsful of Venezuelans. I don't even know if that number is accurate because I've been too busy to really catch up on all of our current atrocities. The last I'd heard before that number was 3.

The point is, we're getting to the point that we'd shrug at following through on a foreign invasion. What I'm saying is that while we're now watching our fearless leader make good on bad promises, let's keep a Mexican invasion categorized under TACOs. If we start threatening to force our way north, then you'll get to see how much worse my French is than my Spanish.

You could take a look at the article in order to catch up: "If authorized, the planned missions would represent a significant escalation in Trump’s ongoing series of attacks against he has claimed to be drug cartel operations, which include at least 15 strikes against alleged drug smuggling boats in the Caribbean and western Pacific Ocean."

Up to 15 strikes it looks like.

In a move straight out of Daddy Putin's playbook.

[–] AreaKode@lemmy.world 17 points 1 day ago

But Trump knows where Daddy Putin went wrong. 3 day operation. 40 mile line of tanks to Mexico City.

[–] AlexLost@lemmy.world 15 points 1 day ago

The USA has to stop being World Police, and I thought they had? Get your own shit straightened out fuckbag!

I have honestly been saying this for years. Why are Americans stomping around the Middle East to stop half baked groups of religious insurgents when there are cartels right on their border and inside. We all know this is just posturing, as Americans and the GoP love bombing the Middle East and consuming cartel drugs

Are we also going to be invading Nigeria to stop "persecution" of Christians?

[–] PunnyName@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago

Can this late third trimester pregnancy be aborted, please?

[–] dan69@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago (3 children)

If the us couldn’t the stop the “extremists” permanently. Then how the hell are we gonna stop the ongoing war on drugs from the past 10 administrations ago??

[–] ayyy@sh.itjust.works 8 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

Easily. I could knock that out in a few months. Just legalize possession and allow regulated domestic production. Demand for cartel product would plummet catastrophically and they would run out of money.

[–] dan69@lemmy.world 2 points 16 hours ago

Great! At least ur not trying to physically murder ppl from a probability prediction!

I wonder if he'll try to occupy land on the Mexican side in order to establish a buffer zone.

[–] BlueEther@no.lastname.nz 2 points 19 hours ago

[–] DrFistington@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

This might be the only war he can actually put an end to
