Melissa struck with fury. We respond with solidarity.

At the end of October, Hurricane Melissa tore through eastern Cuba as a Category 4 storm with winds reaching 135 mph. Entire provinces ...are devastated. Families are displaced, homes destroyed, clinics are overwhelmed. But not a single life was lost due to Cuba's evacuation of 700,000.

The storm has passed, but the emergency to supply housing reconstruction, materials, potable water, essential food and medicine has only begun.

... Cuba’s hospitals were already short on sutures, antibiotics and basic wound care. Now, they face a surge of trauma patients with no supplies to treat them.
