Mostly entirely unfunny bird talking videos ending in the cringiest generated laugh track, but the people sending them didn't realize they was fake even after I pointed out they still had the sora logo just blurred or pixellated. I'm so damn tired

edit: and I guess aliexpress really wants to sell me womens underwear. I probably could have taken a better screenshot...

I know it’s a smaller issue in the grand scheme of things, but I hate that AI has ruined funny animal videos now too.

im so glad im on the fediverse. the mainstream platforms have so much more AI trash compared to the ActivityPub platforms

I didn't realize people other than grandparents were still using Facebook...

Crazy

[–] GreenKnight23@lemmy.world 3 points 6 hours ago

it's fucking insane.

my neighborhood has a Facebook and posts all the events and special news on there. even the local school posts on it.

I don't have a Facebook, asked them to email me instead. always got positive affirmation in response. "we do that for other folks too". never get invites to events. never get notifications to news.

they had a huge block party over summer, food trucks started showing up. two huge RV sized trucks parked along my yard. I came out asking wtf was going on. "It's a block party." I didn't know that it was happening... "oh yeah we posted it on Facebook last week to get your orders in for the trucks." so I can just go up and order from them? "no, you had to order last week because they can't cook the food here without a license." 😐

I always get emails when they need money or workers though.

funny how that works, right?

this was the last year I'll give them anything but the minimum $100 for routine landscaping.

they can choke on my contempt.

it's killing me, really. I can explain all the issues and risks and its just "oh" and right back to it.

I have this thing I say whenever my mother spouts some crazy shit she read online or from Fox News: "did the Facebook(Fox News) tell you to say that? Is the Facebook(Fox News) in the room with us right now?"

She gets super pissed, but it has taught her not to repeat any of that shit while I'm within earshot.

The irony of them calling them "Reels" when they aren't real

[–] ICastFist@programming.dev 1 points 7 hours ago

Throw bait, reel engagement

What exactly is aliexpress trying to sell you there, an ass?

[–] ParadoxSeahorse@lemmy.world 1 points 11 hours ago

Actually looks like a photo of a woman on a shelf? Subtle black dots in the corners, perhaps some sort of photo frame product? But yeah click bait

Scrolling through reddit, almost every suggested community is for something ai related.

inb4 get off reddit. I only use it for porn.

[–] chronicledmonocle@lemmy.world 2 points 14 hours ago

There is an entire Lemmy instance just for that.

[–] Grass@sh.itjust.works 13 points 1 day ago (2 children)

a relative recently got on reddit in hopes of making friends even though I detailed how that's more impossible now than ever before

[–] SkunkWorkz@lemmy.world 2 points 17 hours ago

Just find a nice Discord server for them that focuses on your relative’s hobbies. Much more likely to make friends there.

[–] _druid@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 day ago

Oh absolutely, I wouldn't expect to actually interact with anyone on there.

What kind of porn can you find on r*dd*t that you can’t find anywhere else. Most shit is just people posting pics of others without their consent.

[–] _druid@sh.itjust.works 2 points 13 hours ago

It's more about compartmentalization. I'll get an account on the fediverse that is porn focused at some point.

It costs OpenAI 5$ a pop to generate these, just to generate more hype about AI and get more investors

[–] PP_BOY_@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Why you clicking on random Facebook links anyway?

[–] slaneesh_is_right@lemmy.org 3 points 15 hours ago

People still using facebook is the real shocker

[–] Grass@sh.itjust.works 14 points 1 day ago

the probably hopeless endeavour of ensuring friends and family aren't tricked by blatant lies and fakes and converted to maga like my dad. Getting them off the platform entirely hasn't worked so far but they aren't totally gone yet
