Had a buddy in high school that had a similar run in with administration. He was a big fan on the band Tool and had a hoodie with this logo on the back.

He refused to take it off and got suspended and his parents had to call and wonder why this was a problem. It wasn’t necessarily about the hoodie. It was about the timing. He was a senior in high school and had worn that same sweatshirt every cool day since freshman year. So after 3+ years why was it all the sudden an issue?

They even found a picture of him in the freshman yearbook to prove the point…suspension was lifted and he was able to continue wearing the damn sweatshirt.

I had a shirt from the band dope, back in HS. Said Dope in red over the American flag with a skeleton in front of it. On the back it said "bang bang bang, in your head fucker, bang bang bang and you're dead fucker" nobody ever said shit about it. And this was in a BIG high school,in Colorado, and wasn't long after columbine. I guess I just got lucky?

The ‘shop looks good, I almost bought it except for the kid’s sleeve

[–] Aggravationstation@feddit.uk 10 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Yea I'm assuming its the same design as the one the dad is wearing.

[–] 4am@lemmy.zip 11 points 5 days ago

I wonder if the “he got suspended for Murca “ story is part of the original image or is that was part of the ‘shop

The only schools I know of that’d suspend you for “did you America today” are schools that require uniforms lol

The sleeve makes it better imo. If that were a real shirt it would make it a lot funnier

Original, for those who are curious:

the funniest thing about this post are all the commenters calling it catgirls and yuri

Kid looks like he's sucking dong behind his father's back one way or another. Father looks like he'd only suck a dong if it were hanging through a mysterious hole in the wall.

He's a MAGA rapper, basically Tom MacDonald 2.
So no, unfortunately all you're getting is a whole lotta "Anti-woke" racist bum rap.

No, I didn't contribute to the reduction of minority rights, abuse an immigrant, or attempt to bully my neighbors.

No, I didn't Nazi today.

Wearing a sexual suggestive catgirls T-shirt can be viewed as an act of personal expression. Students should have the right to express their interests and identity through their clothing, as long as its not explicit or obscene. Anime and internet culture are mainstream forms of art and humour, banning such imagery is kind of weird.

All that said, a school is a professional and educational environment, not a place for sexual or suggestive imagery, even in cartoon form. A shirt showing characters making out can at the very least distract from learning. It likely violates the dress code. There’s a time and place for self-expression, and part of maturity is understanding that. Respecting shared spaces sometimes means choosing clothing that doesn’t cause disruption to others.

The real test here though is to ask if theres other kinds of T shirts being worn? If yes, then you have to ask why this is being singled out. If no, then you have to ask why it should get special treatment? Regardless though, this is a shit parent. Like 100%, a fucking piece of utter shit. Anyone who puts their kids face on the internet, is already a piece of shit. Anyone putting their kids face on the internet in front of culture wars drama, is 100% a grade A mega cunt. The quicker we all start realising and curbing the harm done to children this way, the better.

Fuck this bready face prick.

You do realize the cat girls are photoshopped in right? Why would a cat girl shirt have a camouflage green upside down US flag on it?

Patch. Ive seen stranger.

I assumed the flag was, yes. Based on other comments. Fuck, dont tell me its because he was wearing a shirt with flag on it???

Regardless, my point stands. Putting your kids faces on the internet is a shitty thing to do. And even worse when its for culture wars bullshit. If he has a problem with the school, then he should be going to the school. Not putting his son on the internet to be mocked, or worse, attacked as a symbol of something in real life.

Thanks for pointing out my error.

I was gonna say: we need to stop conflating self expression with sexual fetishes. Wearing clothes and or makeup are not the same thing as two cat girls trying to cross second base

[–] rbesfe@lemmy.ca 9 points 5 days ago

Did you America today?

[–] BrokenGlepnir@lemmy.world 8 points 5 days ago (1 children)

I'm confused by the american flag on the one shirt. Doesn't seem to go with the typical asthetic. Is this maybe a Photoshop?

[–] luciferofastora@feddit.org 3 points 5 days ago

Hard to tell with all the jpg compression, but I think the shirt's image clips into his arm too. I'm willing to bet his shirt was similar to his dad's.

[–] someguy3@lemmy.world 6 points 5 days ago

Had me in the first half.

[–] MourningDove@lemmy.zip 1 points 4 days ago

Bad photoshopping.
