Had a mate over that I've known since high school. We came up together in bands and music in general.

Fuck it's good to catch up with him :)

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 4 points 3 days ago

That's cool. :)

Big afternoon of washing up outside - washed the car, windows and my very dirty undercover area and outdoor furniture. Now I can actually sit outside and enjoy a beer 🍺

Next task is hanging up some fairy lights in my undercover area, it’s a decent size so thinking about best way to go about it. And how many lights I’ll need.

Miniest has been saving her money for rollerskates, so a trip to one of the local shopping centres was in order. Geez that sun's got a kick to it! Now I have a small child awkwardly but happily rolling around the house 🤣

New soil and tomatoes are in! watering system for the stupid grass tree (even though it does look nice) in. Found a 50cm tall apricot tree in the veggie patch (which is next to a mature one). Had no idea what it was until now lol. Not gonna bother grafting it so just transplanted it as is and hope for the best assuming the worst.

I have been to the gym, met a friend for coffee and done my weekly shop.

Much productivity, so now many relax

Drove over to Geelong for cheese train, ended up at a gem show! So cool to hear everyone geeking out and how each of the stalls had their own niche interest. Plus the canteen had fresh made scones, but I was sadly too full from cheese train.

Cheese Train is such a lovely song.

Now I've been happy lately

Thinkin' about good cheese on the train

And I believe it could be

Some good cheese I'll eat again

Oh, I've been smilin' lately

Dreamin' about the cheese train

And I believe it could be

Some cheese I'm going to obtain

Oh, cheese train take this hunger

Come take me home again

Genius!

All we are saying,

Is give cheese a chance.

My ears pricked up 🔫 but Ms Gibson's got this.

[–] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 7 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I wonder if they also work for moths. Have a few in the pantry that isn't helping me sleep at night.

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 5 points 3 days ago

Oh yeah it does. Moths die more easier than flies.

Great service from BCF these past couple of days.

First I saw they were doing $20 off orders over $100, so I found 2 fishing shirts that could pass as business shirts. Then on signup I got $5 credit that stacked with the discount.

The shirts were on clearance so they could only be picked up from a store with local stock, that was fine, whatever.

But then the shirts arrived in the mail, and they were still telling me to go collect my order.

So we rocked up to the BCF today and they couldn't find the order, so I could pick any two items from the clearance section regardless of price. So I pick out two more shirts similar to the ones I got. Then at the register, not only did I get these two extra shirts, but a further $3 refund on the original purchase price.

So, brilliant service from BCF. Definitely my go to fishing store I would recommend to anyone here.

The kids loved this toddler muesli bar that disappeared off the shelves recently. Turns out they're two thirds sugar so that explains why they were so popular and probably why they stopped being made

[–] SaneMartigan@aussie.zone 7 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I just bought some bar molds to make my own. You could make an event of it with the kids tweaking the flavours. Nuts, oats, dates and coccoa are good base ingredients. I used to make caramel to drizzle over them for a bit of sweetness.

I am watching the horsies. I like horsies. 🏇🏇

[–] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 5 points 3 days ago

I'm patiently waiting for the footage of wasted folk at the end of the day.

Feeling so heavy and stuck today. Lying in bed doing heel slides and hip bridges, keep losing concentration while trying to watch movies.

I’ve double cleaned some spots where Melbcat vommed this week and put the sproots out to start getting used to outside but that’s about as productive as today has been.

Melbcat has cooked herself in the sun and moved into the shade to cool off.

Had a dream that a giant passenger plane from a banned airline landed in my backyard upside down. Somehow the whole aircraft fit into the confines of my backyard that is arguably too small for a plane.

[–] _deleted_@aussie.zone 7 points 3 days ago

I dreamed again that I was at work and couldn’t find my laptop. Someone had taken the monitor from my desktop and I couldn’t remember what floor I worked on. Whenever I dream about work, I always have a weird keyboard layout that isn’t Dvorak (which I normally use).

I haven’t worked for nearly five years.

[–] mertn22@aussie.zone 7 points 3 days ago

Part of my dream that I remembered was using a photocopier at work. Between pages I looked through the glass and saw a tiny human spy taking photos of everything I was copying.

I had one about xmas w/ the extended fam. Was probably the most boring one I've had in a while lol.

[–] force_majeure1234@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago

That's a nightmare right there

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 6 points 3 days ago

Went to [redacted cafe] for a cocktail and they had a staff member dressed like a nazi, red swastika arm band and all. I raised issue and I think they hid until we left.

Glad you raised issue. Choices come with consequences.

When I saw it empty at 6am part of me hoped everyone had had a good nights sleep.

I have less of a fever today which is nice. The GP I went to see prescribed me antivirals that are known for not really working well. The pharmacist said it's like a placebo and any improvements are just your immune system doing its thing. I heard that in 2014/15, the government spent $200 million on stockpiling this medication for a flu-based pandemic, only for research to come out saying it doesn't really work. It seems like it will be a while before we have an antiviral that's like an antibiotic for flu viruses.

Yarrabyte off duty again I see.
