Not particularly going to measure it, but if you want them to feel the need to get better, there's Nanotale
Type racer is the simplest.
Not exactly what you asked, but close I think: a (paid) full gamified typing course for kids, in several languages including English: https://www.typetopia.com/
As someone who is self learning Dutch, thank you so much, this will be great to expand my knowledge in kind of a different direction!
When I was a kid, there was a game like missile command where letters would drop from space and typing the letter would launch a missile which would destroy the letter. I can only find full word versions of that game now online. Was really hoping to find a single letter version for learning where the keys are.
TIPP10 maybe? Thats how I learnt (I installed it though, but it has an online version too)
