I love great painters of light. Especially light on water. Similarly backlit subjects, the way light interacts with the image and impacts what we see while only backlighting.

I havent read much about him but i feel like he really likes triangles, often we see very sharp triangles in water and the general shape of his subjects too. Hence I added an image of the pyramid. You can also notice it in the water and the building and the people. Just a little theory.

Might be better live in gallery lighting than off my dimmed phone screen with colour comfort on.

Still gorgeous though

Yep. I'll say that about everything I've posted. Muuuch better in person. The scale, the texture, the details everything is observable in person.

Phones are horrible for sharing art. First of all images on lemmy need to under 1mb which means it's low quality even for online viewing. Then the fact that a massive canvas is reduced to a 6 inch screen. And everything unique is ripped out.

But people still get the gist of it which is why I post lol.

Yeah one can imagine a better context for seeing them but the idea is there and definitely if I knew of one of these in a place I'm gonna visit, I'll be sure to check it out.

Although it doesn't look like I'm visiting anywhere soon but still.

Oh and what is the scale btw, how large works are these?

They are actually illuminated. They just aren't luminous.
