It seems like most (all?) images embedded in posts more than about ~3 months old (not sure on exact cut off) are replaced with this image instead of the actual content. The image always seems to link to https://media.kbin.social/media/35/b4/35b47c291902b6bc8ae273715c6767dae1033fe267d7caf30b84168934ce0825.png

Is this a bug? Data loss on kbin's side? The images seem to still be available from the original source if I use the "Copy url to fediverse" link, generally.

Could it be that the instance purged it's media in response to the CSAM incident not long ago?

Hmm... plausible, but unfortunate if everything got nuked in a cleanup. I can't find any confirmation one way or the other though digging through kbinMeta. (Possible I missed an announcement or something though; there were a lot of threads a few months back.)
