So glad there is money to tackle and disappear brown people, but not money to feed people.

We have plenty of money to feed everyone. Those just aren't the right kind of American these days.
Remember that they're splitting hairs to starve poor people here, but illegally raiding R&D money to pay the military
Republicans really want food riots.
Their goal is anything violent to trigger the insurrection act. That’s part of why they were so pissed off that No Kings was peaceful. So now they’re going for the food.
They're gonna get it, in a serious way. I don't think there's enough troops to take on this many pissed people living in cities and such.
Most substation power transformers take years to replace, and are only protected by chain link fences.
that's because the fence is there to protect you, not the transformer.
Bit of armor piercing isn't going to do the oil-filled housing much good..
But why would the gov care if you are without power? The ones they need will be well protected.
Not saying it's logical. Individuals are smart, people are blah blah blah..
Well I am saying it won't deter the gov in anyway.
At some point, if enough of the grid were damaged, the remaining bits would get overloaded.
Soldiers in unlit urban corridors should be expected to do worse in their mission, nevermind all the added chaos.
They will just use generators. I mean seriously, the military can deploy to places like Afghanistan and iraq, where I am sure they had no power until they took over the power facilities and such. They can handle power without a grid just fine.
Supply lines, drones, and how difficult powering entire city blocks off generators is..
Let's end this discussion with a simple point: several hundred dollars for a gun and AP rounds means the military is suddenly responsible for partially powering a surrounding area, with their "enemies" (we the people) made dramatically harder to see at night.
Your simple point isn't the mic drop you think it is. You seem to think this administration would care about maintaining order in every city block through the night. They would create green zones for themselves with power and such, but the rest would be on thier own each night, and probably only minorly managed during the day even. Workers and whoever they need would have to go through security to get into the green zones to work for food. This playbook has already been written and perfected over centuries.
No mic drop was attempted. Armchair debates about how things would work out are similarly pointless.
I will agree that historical data is not always an accurate predictor of future events. But in this case we are talking not about what will happen, but about would the administration's future actions be influenced by the possibility of people attacking transformers. It is reasonable to say that in the past, similar administration's didn't worry about similar things, so it is unlikely that the current administration will either.
The government is doing a lot of things it "can't" do. This is one of those times I would say "do it anyway, and worry about the consequences later", because it's objectively a net help for people.
I originally used this source and I think its higher quality (but substack so got moderated):

Yesterday the Trump administration said it would not use any of the approximately $6 billion the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) holds in reserve to fund the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
the shutdown plan the USDA released in late September. Then, it said: “Congressional intent is evident that SNAP’s operations should continue since the program has been provided with multi-year contingency funds that can be used for State Administrative Expenses to ensure that the State can also continue operations during a Federal Government shutdown. These multi-year contingency funds are also available to fund participant benefits in the event that a lapse occurs in the middle of the fiscal year.”
Today, in yet another violation of the Hatch Act that prohibits the use of government resources for partisan ends, the USDA Food and Nutrition Service website reads: “Senate Democrats have now voted 12 times to not fund the food stamp program, also known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Bottom line, the well has run dry. At this time, there will be no benefits issued November 01. We are approaching an inflection point for Senate Democrats. They can continue to hold out for healthcare for illegal aliens and gender mutilation procedures or reopen the government so mothers, babies, and the most vulnerable among us can receive critical nutrition assistance.”
at the same time the Department of Agriculture says it cannot spend its $6 billion in reserves to address the $8 billion needed for SNAP in November, the administration easily found $20 billion to prop up right-wing Trump ally Javier Milei in Argentina.
They'll shuffle money to pay their fucking military though. Bootlicking twats.
