Yes, look up “lightning to HDMI adapter.” I’ve seen them used all the time in schools. I helped my grandma set one up once because she didn’t have an Airplay compatible TV.

No, it’ll only screen mirror. However, with some apps they go full screen and it looks good. I use OutPlayer for video since VLC removed folders, dumping all my videos in the root folder with no warning… good app, free, six bucks for some features most will never use. Anyway, when you open a video in that, it rotates and fills the TV screen. Decent way to watch a movie, I suppose.
To the non-tech-savvy, that's basically what "project" means.
