Any politics anywhere in the world. Inevitably it'll be 99% US stuff, but that's not a rule.

This community works differently to how most politics communities work. It has strict rules designed to facilitate productive discussion. You can be rude, to a point, but you can't participate in bad faith:

The idea is to make the discussion productive. Let's see how it works. Maybe this is a fool's errand but IDK how any set of moderation could be worse than lemmy.world.

How quickly we forget that these politicians are all just out for themselves. They have no principles. They're not out to serve the public. They'll drop everything they know at the first whiff of some opportunity to get ahead.

Vance described himself as a "never Trump guy" and said he "never liked him" and described him as "America's Hitler".

Cruz referred to Trump as a "pathological liar", "serial philanderer", "completely amoral", and "not a genuine conservative".

The list goes on.

I'm not gonna lie, I agree with some of these perspectives and it makes me feel unwell. Like we agree on various aspects but the route that led us to the view was drastically different...
