A chilly, foggy day today.

I'm at that point in Tabactober where my boar brush — even though I wash it out and dry it properly — exudes the Tabac scent all on its own.

Have a good day!

Quintidi 5 Brumaire an 234 de la Révolution, jour d'Oie: Austrian National Holiday

Today is the Austrian National Holiday (also knows as: Day of the Flag), and I tried to come up with as much Austrian gear as I could. Unfortunately, I have no Haslinger soap here, so I only had the Koraat razor (I could also have taken the GreenCult, but nothing else). Rose de Pushkar because: why not; a horse brush because Lippizaner.

I was toying with the idea of @DaveWave94@sub.wetshaving.social to give a moustache a go, but before I had decided on any firm course of action, I had shaved the area – which resolves the issue.

Have a good day!

Don't worry, there are still a few days left before November actually starts. IIRC, the original "Movember" starts by shaving everything off on the 31st of October and then shave everything but the upper lip during November, giving you ~ 4 full weeks of growth. I didn't really like the concept as I was younger and had slow growth and no one cared for the fundraising in my circle back then, but if you just want to see how you look with a 'stache, it's a funny challenge. I actually plan to do something similar this year: trimming the moustache short and shaving off everything else on Halloween and then letting it grow during all of November. Now that I am in my 30s, I could probably get something better going than in my mid-20s. 🥸👍🏻

I will need though to learn to shave more mindfully!

Sure, there's lots of automated routines to avoid if you actually want to try it. I'm sure you'd manage it though 👍🏻

  • Brush: AP Shave Co. Blue & Clear - Gelousy (A3) 28mm Badger
  • Razor: Koraat Moarteen (15/16", full hollow, square point, r/wetshaving exclusive) (4)
  • Lather: Spearhead Shaving Company - Seaforth! Fleur de France - Soap
  • Post Shave: Spearhead Shaving Company - Seaforth! Heather - Aftershave
  • Post Shave: Oleo & Co. - Facial Toner - Toner
  • Fragrance: GLHF Workshop - Atriox - EdT

This morning I only did two passes and focused on comfort. It's definitely not my closest shave, but it's close enough with no nicks or irritation.

FdF is excellent. I want to find a splash and frag at some point, I think.

Honestly if I had to give up every DE I had except one I would keep this. Been using my Merica and Slim a bit more for variety's sake, but yeah I still love it. Very happy to have one.
