Big Yud could have saved the world, so he lamented, but there's only one of him and his very special Main Character brain, so he could not. 
If I had my way, Yud would be forbidden to say anything about AI until he could solve 10 easy problems on LeetCode (this is an incredibly low bar to clear, but he's lazy and egotistical enough that I'm confident it would silence him on the subject forever)
Peer-reviewed competency tests are against the autodidactical way.
