Plasma 6 Bugs

If you encounter a bug, proceed to https://bugs.kde.org/, check whether it has been reported.

If it hasn't, report it yourself.

PLEASE THINK CAREFULLY BEFORE POSTING HERE.

Developers do not look for reports on social media, so they will not see it and all it does is clutter up the feed.

Fuzzy search on the start menu was my main issue. No KDE, I wasn't searching for Firwfox...

Stupid computers, always doing what you tell them, never what you want. Guess that's changing.

Autocorrect/fuzzy search have been available on mobile phones and search engines since what, 10 years? 20?

[–] bjoern_tantau@swg-empire.de 1 points 2 weeks ago

Probably longer. But still someone had to go tell the machine how to do it. And AI has shown us how hilariously wrong that can go when taken to extremes.

KRunner, Plasma’s search/launch/unit converter/calculator/“but wait, there’s more” tool, uses fuzzy matching to look up applications. This means that even if you misspell an app’s name, KRunner will probably still find it for you. How search results are ordered has also been improved, and KRunner will start to provide those results after the first character is typed.

Oh nice!

I also didn't know it could do unit conversions lol

WOO looking forward to it. KDE Plasma is the most advanced Linux desktop.

Wow, this is how it's done! Can't wait to install this update.

Are we going to get the CTRL-F4 cube rotation effect that was removed like 4 years ago?

I loved that effect, it was smooth and I used it to show off the cool desktop features of Linux (even though it's worthless, it's nice bling)

I believe that came back recently! I think it's one of the desktop effects in kwin settings

Awesome! I can't wait to install it! Any plans for a Miracast solution to be built in? I know that's not an easy protocol to work with.

Great to see work done on the accessibility front!

I’m so happy to have automatic light and dark mode!

Do I get my AutoHotKey back yet?

I have it installed, but support for it is starting is wane. I'm dogfooding.

I dug into it a bit, we need the new api to allow a few things and they're not budging. There's enough traction to have X11 on the downslide but not enough force to get them to support the little needs. Too damn big/fast to fork for now.

I don't get it. No AI integration?!
