I feel really dumb but I guess I didn’t realize there were modern-looking shoes (look like athletic shoes) all the way back then.. it’s not that long ago, but it’s a really long time ago, too, so..

I have a very different view of the people who built my house (1880), now.. idk what I thought everyone wore, I guess more like dark colored dress shoes or boots?
