It was my understanding that "missiles" are anything that was launched by something else, so a spear thrown by an atlatl is a missile, and an arrow shot from a bow is a missile, and a stone thrown from a sling is a missile, right?

I've heard 'missiles' used to refer to javelins launched by hand.
