I loved these as a kid. My elementary school library had most of them and I read every single one.

Arms and Armor was my favorite because I was a weird 8 year old boy and weapons are cool. Then I tried to search for more books about guns on the computer in the library.

I got in a heap of trouble and I thought it was so stupid. They had one book about guns, why couldn't I look for more?

Oh by the way, this happened right after Columbine.

The few one's from 1990's I've come across have actually been surprisingly inaccurate with their facts. People clearly cared less about fact checking back then than nowadays.

i guess fact checking was quite a bit harder back then?

I buy some of the more recent ones for my kid every once in a while. Books in this flavor can still be found at Smithsonianstore.com or dk.com

Visual encyclopedias are the best.
